Back in the 70s, I was part of the dumbing down process that affected the fire service in Massachusetts. After changing the test several times to make it more "relevant"; the passing grade was dropped to 30 to accomodate the court mandate.
How incredibly sad it is that admission standards and test
results have to be changed, instead of the APPLICANT changing.

From what I understand, some states changed their civil service fire test years ago because a certain minority group was afraid of going through a tunnel that wasn't lit (it was supposed to simulate a fire where one has to work in conditions without light).

Now we have women firefighters who can't open up a fire hydrant and are too weak to operate the nozzle of the hose. They can't carry out a brother fireman and it's the men who are forced into sensitivity training. Who loses? The fire department and the taxpayers.

It's all just part of the 'dumbing down of America'. And if it continues, it will be our downfall. Just another example of how liberalism is destroying our country.
