BALTIMORE -- Former Baltimore City police commissioner Kevin Clark's lawyers claimed a city-owned laptop computer may hold the key to why their client was fired.
WBAL-TV 11 News I-Team lead investigative reporter Jayne Miller said that same computer may answer the riddle surrounding a political dirty tricks mystery as well.
Miller reported the computer in question was stolen just weeks before Clark was fired Nov. 2004, and what it may have contained explains why Clark was tossed out as police commissioner. Miller reported with Clark's lawsuit against the city now revived, his lawyers have delivered a letter to city hall demanding the city preserve the contents of a laptop computer that was used by Baltimore City labor commissioner Sean Malone. Miller said Malone is a close ally of Mayor Martin O'Malley, and at one time, held a high-ranking job in the police department.
In their letter, Clark's lawyers claimed the computer contained "hundreds of items concerning commissioner Kevin Clark" and "a significant number of items related to MD4BUSH."
Miller reported MD4BUSH is the mysterious Internet user who communicated with Joe Steffen, the former aide to Gov. Robert Ehrlich, about the mayor's personal life in October and November of 2004. Previous reports by 11 News have revealed evidence that a Democratic Party operative may have been involved in the MD4BUSH postings. Clark's lawyers said their claim is based on information passed through a lawyer from an anonymous source.

On WBAL radio, Jayne Miller, of WBAL TV, said the Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley employee, Sean Malone, claimed his laptop was stolen on October 7, 2004......the same day MD4BUSH logged in to join FreeRepublic.com [to spread rumors about O'Malley in an effort to set a sting up on Steffen/ncpac!]

I have kept up with the MD4BUSH thing and understand how Joe Steffen was a Freeper, forget his name. This MD4BUSH character was trying to lure Steffen into detailing the Mayor O'Malley scoop that he lived apart from his wife in some apartment near Baltimore City Hall. The hint also in those discussions was that Mayor OM made Clinton look like a piker.
So now we have Baltimore's Labor Commissioner who had a computer. Mayor OM evidently fired this guy Clark, which I did not know, and now Clark is trying to put somebody's feet to the fire. Also the article asserts that the reason that Clark was fired was BECAUSE he was investigating Malone's computer.
The MD4BUSH connection is almost an afterthought here.
Anyway, this is starting to smell really, really bad. SOMETHING was on Malone's computer and former police commissioner Clark knew about it. Mayor OM fires Clark. Malone admits there was sexual stuff on his computer but shrugs it off.

No way would the police commissioner be investigating simple porn on even the bloated bureaucracies' employees. There was a child porn investigation ongoing in the Baltimore police department and they discovered Malone was a player.
Malone is a friend of Mayor OM. Malone has something on OM. Who knows, maybe Mayor OM is in on the child porn, sweet young teen stuff, like that? But OM FIRED the police commissioner! A big step, eh?
As for the MD4BUSH, well I thought the secret guy was already identified as some Dem operative. And yet over and over again I see that the name will be revealed when I thought it was.
I think that Malone was the one involved with the MD4BUSH and he was trying to get out a rumor involving OM that he lived apart from his wife. Why? Allegedly someone wanted to sting an Ehrlich guy, Steffen, and be able to claim the Mayor OM lives with his wife and it was all a Republican joke.
I'm perfectly serious here that what might appear to be just a smirk to us Freepers is WAAAAAy more. Somebody's trying to protect OM and this Malone guy is knee deep in this.
Gotta think outside the box with these politicos, ladies and gems. They aren't nice people sometimes like all of us.
Like here lately Joe Wilson is all involved with LA thief Jefferson. Point being, mark my words, when they go on the offensive so viciously like this, there's something very, very vulnerable that needs discovery.
I'd love to see WBAL stay on this. It's about the only decent radio station in Baltimore.

What else can it be?
SOMETHING is on Malone's hard drive. Think of all it could possibly be.
-emails sent to someone? In that case the email recipient would have a copy.
-word processing or Excel documents? Come on. This would not warrant a police investigation.
-Adult porn? This could be and the article alludes to some sexual content admitted to by Malone. I find it a stretch that MOM and/or the Baltimore police would be all involved in a horny bureaucrat and some adult porn. Across the fruited plains I bet government workers do this all the time.
What is UNIQUE about a SPECIFIC hard drive?
It has to be child porn. It's how they catch these guys. The article keeps referring to a HARD DRIVE. Something on that hard drive is incriminating. I can't think of anything else that would cause a Mayor to actually FIRE a city's Chief of Police. That's a mighty action.
Remember too that the hard drive was stolen by somebody from Malone. How convenient.

Suffice it to say that the O'Malley camp is in full blown damage control at this point. They know Ehrlich has the goods on them and they're plotting plausible deniablity. The laptop was stolen. Dana Milbanks shivs Mike Steele. Matt Mosk signs on as MD4Bush. Do they think we're stupid?
