Gentle reader, do you know that Israel is engaged in ethnic cleansing in southern Lebanon?

Didn't bother to read past this. I don't waste time reading the rantings of the insane.

This guy is well acquainted with the "Big Lie." He even uses it for the same purpose as did the Nazis, to demonize the Jews. But then, demonizing the innocent is a tradition for the Left.

Thanks for the ping.

Would you be surprised that Paul Craig Roberts is an honored contributor to that preminant Conservative publication, Pat's The American Conservative?

Paul Craig Roberts lost his mind a long time ago. He's a joke now.

It's 1938 all over again. Leftists are on the side of our enemy (then it was the Soviet Union, now Islamo-fascists). A portion of the right has become neo-isolationist, not from sympathy with the enemy but for the classical reason, a professed desire to avoid the problems of the world. How they imagine history would proceed without American power shaping it is beyond me. Do they really believe we will be here, free and prosperous, in 50 years, if we do what they advise? If so, they are deluded and dangerous.

In reality, we have two choices, the hard and the soft. Bush is pursuing the soft version--produce democracies in the Muslim world by persuasion and example. If conditions get bad, if this war threatens us in a more direct way, with terror attacks at home, for example, then we can always upgrade to the hard version. And we can win a hard war, a WW2 style war, in weeks, if not days, if we want to. But tens of millions on the other side would die. No one responsible wants that if it can be avoided.

Our only other choice is defeat. Eventual defeat. There is no way to leave the world to its own devices and remain safe for very long. Muzzies will get the bomb and spread their hate through Africa, southern Asia, Indochina, the Phillippines and even Europe, China will gain strength, bring Japan into its sphere, and eventually control the pacific and North Asia. The Russians will fill the vacuum in Europe and the Middle East, competing with Muzzies in both. Even our southern border will not be save, we will get a Chavez-style guy pushing into the southwest. Meanwhile, an isolationist US fails to develop the type military necessary to defend itself from attack (because we feel safe inside our bubble) and 30, 40, 50 years out, the carriers, jets, defensive systems, tanks, are vulnerable to those who have been fighting and dying for their vision of the world. They will be stronger than us (especially as our feminization will continue unhindered by real men). No, isolationism is not conceivable.

I am pessimistic about the hard way being avoidable, but I agree with Bush's decision to work for the soft solution first. No one wants to go down in history as the person who killed millions, even if they brought it on themselves.

* John Craig Roberts is a former associate editor of the Wall Street Journal, former contributing editor for National Review, and was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan administration. Dr. Roberts is Chairman of the Institute for Political Economy and Research Fellow at the Independent Institute.

The above is from the end of the posted story. IMHO John Craig Roberts is a very dangerous individual as he appears to have the credentials which convey an air of legitimacy to what would otherwise be dismissed as the ravings of a crackpot.

"Gentle reader, do you know that Israel is engaged in ethnic cleansing in southern Lebanon? Israel has ordered all the villagers to clear out. Israel then destroys their homes and murders the fleeing villagers."

The very first line of this screed is a lie, and for that reason, there is no reason to read any further.

And here is the thread that inspired my thread (that I linked in my #93). It includes the following gem:

Paul Craig Roberts is a true Reaganesque paleoconservative and a a great American hero. I used to read his great and enlightening articles in Business Week at the time when he was on the Reagan administration.

He's not the first economist to go stark raving mad since 9/11.

There was Jude Wanniski, and lately Morgan Reynolds of 9/11 Scholars for Truth, who's being highly praised here by one of his fans.

I came across a quote today while looking for pictures of WTC #7 (for the above-mentioned fan). Something to the effect that instead of wearing tinfoil hats, these guys "should all wear Saran-Wrap underwear, so we can all see they're nuts." :D

Really?! I wasn't aware that thugocratic, mass-murdering, fascistic, missile-in-mosque-stuffing, extremist Islamism was an "ethnicity". You learn something new everyday.
