What happened to Paul Craig Roberts?

That's my question, too. He used to be an intelligent, articulate conservative. Now he sounds deranged, actually schizophrenic in this article. Very seriously, has something terrible happened to this man? If he has been stricken with schizophrenia, it might explain his apparent loss of contact with reality.

Someone earlier raised the possibility that he might be suffering from a brain tumor.

It would be a damn shame if it were so.

From Wkipedia

"He considers himself, and is considered by others, to be part of the paleoconservative wing of conservatism, although he claims to have received harsh criticism from both sides of the political spectrum. In recent years, he has become increasingly known as an opponent of free-trade agreements like NAFTA, and the World Trade Organization, and a critic of the administration of George W. Bush. He is opposed to the Iraq War, and writes frequently on the subject.

He is a member of the controversial VDARE.com editorial collective, an internet group that favors immigration reduction and has been deemed racist by critics. His writings frequently appear on Antiwar.com, on Lew Rockwell's web site, and Alexander Cockburn's left-wing site CounterPunch.

During the 2004 Presidential Election in the U.S., Roberts endorsed the Democratic candidate, John Kerry, for president."

[quote] "Anyone who depends on print, TV, or right-wing talk radio media is totally misinformed. The Bush administration has achieved a de facto Ministry of Propaganda." [4]

I am a subscriber to the "Conservative Chronicle" which prints colums from many conservative/libertarian writers. PCR used to be in there. He no longer is. I suspect that they cancelled him when he went off of the deep end.
