If this Kanck woman got up and demonstrated her suicide skills with a Jonestown cocktail or something, one could believe her methods and her sincerity. But she's one of those infuriating liberal hypocrites who tell everyone else what to do but will not do it herself. She should crawl back under her rotten log.

Thanks for linking the second page!

Here's a story that makes one's eyes open wide: "Holli Strickland, Avrett's sister, was shot and killed on Sept. 22, 2005, in an apparent murder-suicide at the hands of her grandmother, police said." "...at the hands of" her grandmother!

What could EVER induce a mother to shoot her own daughter? Everything we hear about the late Holli Strickland makes her out as cruel, dishonest and manipulative -- sheer evil. If I recall the dates correctly, the murder-suicide was right after Haleigh was found emaciated, burned and beaten nearly to death. That pretty well tells all one needs to know.

I'm pretty sure Jerri Ward was the attorney who helped Andrea Clark get free from the St. Lukes Biothicists in Texas. Andrea got only two or three extra days of life, but it was enough for her to die with peace and dignity, with her family at her bedside. She, and they, were profoundly grateful for that opportunity. The bioethics law was just going to dump her at the curb.

That's the best news I've had in a while.

Sudyka said she is working with a lawyer in an effort to adopt Haleigh.

DSS will fight this for sure. They're trying desperately to cover up their actions.

Tom Gallagher for Governor

On the Issues

Defending the institution of marriage

The union between one man and one woman has been recognized as the foundation of the family for more than two centuries of American jurisprudence and thousands of years of human experience. Unfortunately, a small group of activist judges throughout the country have decided to redefine the institution of marriage above the objections of the majority of Americans.

During my campaign for Governor, I will seek a constitutional amendment to protect marriage as the union between one man and one woman. I am the only candidate for Governor in either party who is committed to a state constitutional amendment to protect the institution of marriage.

Promoting a culture which respects life

Throughout history, societies have been judged by how they treat the least among them. If Florida is truly to achieve all of its promise, we must do more to foster a society which values life.

As Governor, I will do everything I can to reduce the number of abortions in our state, increase funding for abortion counseling and abortion alternatives, and improve education so that more Floridians are informed about the true nature of abortion.

With the Florida Primary looming on Tuesday, this media praises Charlie Crist. Here is what they like about him:

Crist's positions are a better match for Florida's needs. For instance, he opposes gay marriage and supports the ban on adoption by homosexual couples -- but says he'd be open to civil-union status for gay couples. He supports tax cuts but identifies several areas where the state needs more spending, especially education.

Crist has all but erased his reactionary "Chain Gang Charlie" image from his service in the state Senate. Today, he's calm and courteous, doing a good job of steering his office clear of controversy. One notable example: Crist refused to involve his office in the bitter struggle over the fate of Terri Schiavo, whose feeding tube was removed last year over vocal (and unwanted) protests by state politicians. Crist also fought hard against a phone-rate increase -- showing he's in touch with Florida's priorities.

New York Times Sunday Book Review...

As it happens, Jenny and Greg both think abortion should be legal. They think people have a right to control their own bodies. But they also find the abortion issue distressing and difficult, and believe abortion should be reserved for special circumstances (theirs didn’t qualify). Ramesh Ponnuru, a senior editor at National Review, is out to tell them their position is nonsense. In “The Party of Death: The Democrats, the Media, the Courts, and the Disregard for Human Life,” he seeks to debunk what he views as an incoherent centrism while, as Marxists used to say, “heightening the contradictions” of abortion-rights advocates.

My heart goes out to this man- how awful to lose a child.

I spent over 30 years in the medical field and know the difference between withholding extreme measures and taking a hand in a patient's death. When you do not feed or hydrate a patient, you are actively taking part in his/her death. This is what the authorities and that worthless husband of hers did. Schiavo's husband should remember that a lack of justice in THIS life does not mean there will be none in the next.

Another take in the Florida media: Seems the libs like Crist...

Gallagher is Catholic, although he sometimes visits the Baptist church to which his wife and son belong. He has run hard as the candidate whose values line up with the religious right on abortion, gay marriage, stem-cell research, etc. Yet that has not been enough to make Gallagher competitive.

Crist -- a Methodist and a bachelor -- has taken more of a live-and-let-live approach on some issues. He would allow civil unions for gays, for example, and although he says he is pro-life, he wouldn't favor passing laws to challenge Roe v. Wade. He also told the Witness in his interview that he did not agree with Gov. Jeb Bush's decision to intervene in the Terri Schiavo case on the grounds "some decisions should be left to God and family, not government."

Is Right Losing Grip On State?

Ping to a chilling thread by wagglebee...

"As soon as the cord was cut, the baby and I were ushered out. There was great haste about this as the parents had been assured that the baby would be born dead and that they should put it out of their minds immediately. But the baby, a girl, was not dead. Apart from the entire absence of a brain, she was perfect in every other way.

"The obstetric staff were adamant that the baby must not live, even for a few hours, as that would mean the parents would have to be told she was alive.

A Sixth Circuit Candidate endorsed by CHARLIE CRIST has been sued for defamation of character. Well, if Robert Michael gets disqualified that will be one less judge over in Pinellas starving people to death.

A review by a liberal who believes that Terri Schiavo was A) hopelessly vegetative and B) left instructions to be starved to death. Waste of reading time.

Sorry 1,350.

People who hold office know about Dr. Linda. It's up to them to determine the validity of the letter from Dr. Linda but one of the office holders said that by taking a poll and voting 96% for Charlie Crist, that's a clear indication to avoid Miami hospitals.
