Documents say Texas brothel used immigrants [TX & OK sex slavers]

AUSTIN (AP) - Brothels in the Austin area and Oklahoma City that used immigrant women and catered mostly to undocumented workers were part of a multistate prostitution ring federal agents have partially broken up, court documents say.

Women from Mexico and Central and South American countries worked in the prostitution houses and in some cases reported being held against their will, documents show.

The brothel near Austin was the second in that area run by the same man, officials allege. Juan Balderas-Orosco, 34, escaped capture when authorities raided the first one four years ago, but he was arrested June 29 after a yearlong surveillance operation and charged with transporting women to engage in prostitution.

Four others face similar charges.

Balderas has been ordered held without bail pending a hearing. His court-appointed lawyer declined to comment, saying he was not yet familiar with the case.

A spokeswoman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said she did not know details of the case.

In 2002, immigration agents and Austin police raided a house, which they later said was a brothel run by Balderas. They arrested two Mexican men and two women -- one from Colombia and the other from the Dominican Republic.

The women told agents they were moved among locations in several states and forced to perform sex acts for money, court documents said.

"The organization recruits females ... and arranges for them to be smuggled into the United States. The aliens are held in indentured servitude and forced into prostitution," an arrest affidavit said.

The men accused of working for Balderas pleaded guilty in federal court to transporting and harboring illegal aliens, served 15 months in prison and were deported.

About a year after the first house was raided, Balderas opened another brothel about a mile away, just outside the city limits, court documents said.

A federal affidavit said that in June 2005 agents placed a covert pole camera to allow continued surveillance of the house. A year later agents raided the house. On the same day, June 29, a brothel in Dallas was raided, and Balderas was arrested after leaving an Oklahoma City brothel, the affidavit said.

Two other men, Francisco Castillo-Celaya and David Mendoza, were also arrested and charged in Oklahoma City. Two others, including Balderas' wife, have been charged but not arrested, court documents said. ___

As much as I carp about illegal immigrants, it really angers me when I see them abused. It isn't lost on me that they are abused in many if not most instances more by their own people than they are by U.S. citizens. Any person that would take another against their will and force them to take part in this should be locked up for decades.

I wager they are using falsified I.D. Can't they add to their sentence if they can prove this? It ought to be added punishment when people who are apprehended are sporting fake I.D.

Definetely doesn't sound like "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas".

Don't guess Marvin got this scoop like he did back when the (chicken ranch)was a happenin. For some of you folks not familiar with Marvin, you DO NOT want to see him coming in his white suit, if you own a food service (restaurant, etc) in the Houston area, so that he can report on his weekly "Rat and Roach Report", or his report on SLIIIIMMMMMEEE in the ice machine. What a character. Every big city needs a MZ.

They just want to make sure their culture doesn't stop at the border.

They just don't make them in Texas like they used to. I remember a little place in LaGrange that used UT college girls. The old lady running the place was a hoot. I liked the shag red carpet and full length mirrors too.
