HAVANA, Aug 3 (Reuters) - For hundreds of thousands of poor people from the Andes to the Himalayas, the legacy of Cuba's ailing communist leader Fidel Castro will be not revolutionary war but eyesight.
For decades, the now ailing Castro, who temporarily handed over power to his brother Raul on Monday, prescribed armed revolution to cure the Third World's ills. But more recently he has preferred to export doctors to treat poor people in the undeveloped world.
The programs have expanded rapidly thanks to financial support from Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, leader of the world's eighth-largest oil producer and Castro's main ally.
Medical diplomacy is helping Cuba gain friends in its ideological battle with Washington. But at home, Cubans have mixed feelings about so many of their doctors going abroad. It has affected the free health-care system that once boasted a family doctor on every block.

This isn't too difficult.
1. To criticise leftist human rights violators would be to criticize themselves since they are both leftists.
2. If they call them out for being human rights violators, then they would have to call for regime change and there would be one fewer leftist run country in the world. By extention, if some leftists are human rights violators, maybe Americans should't allow leftists to have power in the US.
3. The US is the only country on Earth be able to accomplish this regime change. This would make the US look good by having one less country that the left can point to and say, "The US should be more like them." The left can't allow the US to look good except when a leftist is running the country.
4. One more admission that a leftist got it wrong and failed to bring about the Socialist utopia they have been dreaming about for the last 100 years. If only the right people were in charge, socialism would work.
I could go on but you get the idea.

Those "doctors" sure fought well in Angola.
LOL, his nation is fill of cars from the 1930s and 40s... now why would he not be exporting revolution any longer? Hmmm, I wonder. Could it be because the Soviet Union went belly up and he ran out of financial backing to do so? For the record, Cuba is still a focus of anti-American fomentation. Political leaders from problematic states find it important to visit with Fidel to dicuss their shared hate of the U.S.
Because their AA's got inserted backwards.
