Officials Say Kerik Faces a Second Investigation (Rudy appointee used gov't $$$ for phone sex)
NY TIMES ^ | August 4, 2006 | WILLIAM K. RASHBAUM

Posted on 08/04/2006 12:47:49 PM PDT by Liz

Former NYC Police Commissioner Bernard B. Kerik is under federal investigation for possible financial improprieties .....focused on a foundation affiliated with the city’s Department of Correction during Mr. Kerik’s tenure.....Last month, Kerik pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors....Under an agreement that allowed him to avoid jail time and a felony conviction, he admitted accepting $165,000 in apartment renovations from a company accused of having ties to organized crime......

The foundation....came under scrutiny in early 2003..... a former high-ranking Correction Department official was arrested and later pleaded guilty to mail fraud charges, admitting that he stole more than $137,000 from the fund. But hundreds of thousands of dollars of the foundation’s money, which came from rebates on cigarettes purchased for inmates, was apparently never accounted for.

The investigation is the latest blow for Kerik whose stunning rise from detective to the city’s highest-ranking law enforcement official nearly took him to the White House, when President Bush nominated him to serve as Homeland Security secretary in December 2004. Kerik later withdrew his name..... citing tax and immigration issues involving his nanny, followed by a torrent of disclosures and accusations of personal and financial improprieties.

The New York City Correction Foundation, was headed by Mr. Kerik.....The sole signatory on the foundation’s accounts was Frederick J. Patrick, who pleaded guilty in 2003 to looting the NPO. Patrick held high-level posts in the department....during the administration of Mayor Giuliani.....Giuliani went on to name him to a series of higher level posts, including commissioner of juvenile justice and deputy commissioner of community affairs in the Police Department. Mr. Patrick spent the stolen money on collect calls he accepted from inmates, some of which officials have said involved phone sex...........

Another of Rudy's gay appointees who stole the city blind. Rudy appointed Russell Harding--- son of Liberal Party honcho Ray Harding---to a top city job. Russell stole the city blind and enjoyed child porn and trips with gay friends----all on the taxpayers' dime. Russell was tried and convicted of government fraud.

Nice take.

To put it in proper perspective, keep in mind that Rudy and company are cultural zeros.

They are not anything---not Repubs-not Dems-not conservatives--not liberals (although they love talking liberal---guess it gives them a sexual thrill).

What they are, are agenda-fanatics. Like textbook fanatics, they will be anything, say anything, do anything----whatever it takes to drive their agenda.

Destroying political parties, corrupting the culture, tearing down established mores, grabbing guns, institutionalizing abortion on demand---for fanatics, these are inconsequential.

Listen to Rudy's tortured reasoning on, say, illegal immigration, and you'll get an idea what a disturbed fanatic this individual is.

As FReeper JLA posted: "they will be anything, say anything, do anything----whatever it takes to drive their agenda, and sate their lust for the power and prestige of political office......"

Here's another thing about Rudy that seems a tad 'odd'.

How come Mr. ex-Federal Prosecutor and 'tough on crime - law and order - lock em up and throw away the key for eating a banana on the subway' Mayor (or is he a deity now?) Rudy is surrounded by criminals and mobsters?

Not that I have anything against 'Wise Guys'. To the contrary, I've met and knew more than a few of the Chicago variant and in person they're really swell guys and if you're their friend no favor is too small - or large [ ah ... those were good ole days :-) ]. But I don't WANT TO BE PRESIDENT dammit!!

This SOB seems to have more skeletons in his closet than both the Klintoons (sic) combined. The last thing we as a country need is a POTUS with a Cabinet of 'Goodfellas'. The phony arrogant asshat should just frigging go away.

Plus it appears he doesn't want to be 'elected', oh no - he wants a Coronation - which the MSM is gladly complying with thus far (Rudy! Rudy! Rudy! 24/7 'Rudy'). He's acting like Hitler and his criminal gang of Brown Shirts (SA).

Screw the fascist, I'd rather have Hillary as POTUS (I'm series). The Republic could and would survive her, but not him - we'd be a dam Police State - and an un-armed Police State at that.

For this reason, I do not want Rudy to win the primary. He is sure to have too many skeletons in his closet to every make it to the presidency. Hilary would dig up every dirty secret by hook or crook.

Tolerance, equality, power sharing, the big tent, room at the table, one man one vote, justice, fairness, rights for all, democracy; a concrete and specific example of the aforementioned big words in action.
