Lebanese media announce new Israeli air raids on Beirut
Israel continued its air raids at Beirut at the past night.
According to data of the Lebanese police goals in the southern outlying districts of the capital were bombarded again. There offices and weapon camps of the radical-Islamic Hisbollah militia are according to Israeli data.

Olmert is as big a traitor of Israel as The Rapist was of the US.
German radio reports that Germans have reservations because the peace keeping force might have to fire on violators from both sides, should that occur, and they don't want to fire on Israelis for historical reasons.
Now really, when has a "peacekeeping" force fire on anybody? Remember Srebrenica? Massacre of a whole town and the "peacekeepers" cowered in their bunker while ten thousand residents were slaughtered to a man.
The UN force in Bosnia didn't have the mandate to enforce peace keeping. That's why this time it has to be different and that's what they're arguing in the UN right now.
Olmert also doesn't want the french to be main force since they are utterly corrupt and useless. They have too many ties and business dealings to Syria and Iran. The french would be just the same as having the UN there. Chirac is pushing hard to have french troops be the main force there and be the ones who call the shots.
I can understand why he would want the Germans.
The only thing that the Germans might be willing to do...is provide air defense support. And that's it. There won't be a single German in Lebanon...count on that. And the French....forget about them as well. This is why Isreal keeps blasting away....they know that no one is going to step in to stop them.
Doubt that. Germany simply can´t say "no" - for historical reasons.
It would at least be a hell of a better way to 'pay back the debt' than deals, where the old proverb fits: One hand washes the other, both feel dirty. But probably ain't gonna happen.
Don't underestimate the French! Don't forget, they have the Foreign Legion!
