BERLIN (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told European leaders to stop preaching to him about civilian war casualties in an interview published on Sunday in German newspaper Welt am Sonntag.

Olmert also said it would not be possible to completely destroy Hizbollah and insisted he did not underestimate them, saying they had fired just 3,000 of their arsenal of 15,000 rockets so far. PHOTOS

"Where do they get the right to preach to Israel?" Olmert said when asked about criticism from European capitals of Israeli military operations that have led to a heavy civilian toll.

"European countries attacked Kosovo and killed ten thousand civilians. Ten thousand! And none of these countries had to suffer before that from a single rocket.

"I'm not saying it was wrong to intervene in Kosovo. But please: Don't preach to us about the treatment of civilians."

Kosovo became a U.N. protectorate in June 1999 after a 78-day NATO bombing campaign forced out Serb security forces accused of atrocities against Albanian civilians during a rebel insurgency by separatist Albanian guerrillas.

The New York-based Human Rights Watch estimates about 500 civilians were killed in the NATO bombing in Kosovo.

Some 10,000 Albanians died in Serbia's 1998-99 counter-insurgency war and there were allegations of random brutality by both sides.

who is this guy?? What planet is he speaking about? He is saying EU countries killed 10,000 Albanians.....the U.S. and International community lied and said the Serbs did in 10,000, and then came the lies about the mass graves, forgetting about the ones that were actually found to contain Serbs.....the falsehoods are beyond anything one could imagine for creating media lies....unbeliveable....how people don't understand what actually went on in the Balkans.....

I've been following this for almost a decade....I lived in Kosovo for five years. This was not a Bill Clinton war for diverting attention from his scandles. It helped, for sure. This was planned long before Clinton came into the presidency....I know this to be a fact. The common thinking due to hard core Republicans is that it's a Clinton war....no it absolutely wasn't. He brought into fruition a plan that was put on hold until the right time for us and the EU to enter the Balkans. It's not as simple as Bill Clinton wanting to divert attention away. He is not that powerful. He was one of the conduits to make this strategy work. It's hard to explain this to people that don't understand the overall big picture. I don't blame you, as this situation is very involved. The major objective is to get closer to Russia and further disable the individual states of Russia. There are many other parts to this goal. It has little to do with Clinton's scandals........Bush is still there and was going to remove troops from the Balkans, until he took office and was briefed as to the actual agenda for remaining in the Balkans. The Srebrenica executions of 8,000 Muslims never happened....maybe 2-3,000 combatants, yes. And last I heard that's what you do to combatants when they stir up an insurgency.......you kill them. The CIA and Bill Clinton back then, took the Muh. in Afghanistan that we trained to fight against the Soviets, we used to stir up trouble in Bosnia. Yes, Old Milo, went to far and did allow the paramititaries to operate. There were NO Rape camps, no Rajak massacre as this was a set up even the ones that visited were fooled into thinking it was ligit. There were never 10,000 Albanians murdered in Kosovo.....the NATO bombing and W.Clarks plan was a failure in many different ways.....to much to go into now. He was actually relieved of his command as I am told by a very reliable source I won't elaborate here.

Not you, but, I'm getting tired of the ones that know this, and are lying about the events to justify our intrusion. I can give you several good references that will tell you the truth if you are interested. You cannot trust most history books or articles talking about this that are written after 1992. Only articles or publications written in the 80's are actually accurate. what I'm telling you are the facts.......you can ask almost anyone of this group that will agree. There are about 2 or three that are the lie spinners to keep the truth from being told........I can point them out offline if you are also interested......

You see, we are actually on the same side....just differ on the reasons we are there....The Balkans have always been used as a back door to Europe relative to organized crime. However, in the 1984 National Security Decision Directive (NSDD) 133: “United States Policy toward Yugoslavia”, declassified around 1990, talked about “expanded efforts to promote a quite civil war or revolution to eliminate the communist governments and their parties and at the same time, reintegrating Eastern European Countries into an economy that is basically market oriented. It was not an accident or mistake that we caused the civil wars, it was a policy and made to order. Why are we there, Vojin Joksimovich, Ph.D.; puts it very nicely in his book, “Kosovo Crisis: A Study in Foreign Policy Mismanagement”. In short, they are the following: Control and Monitoring of oil and natural gas routes; Domination of Eastern Europe for it’s lucrative markets; Weakening and mastering of Russia and Eliminate Russian influence in the Balkans; and lastly, Securing of military bases to further these goals.
