Conn. Senate Campaign Could Be 4-Way Race
HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Connecticut U.S. Senate race could become a four-way fight with the Green Party saying it has submitted enough signatures to place a candidate on the ballot in November.
Ned Lamont is the Democratic candidate after beating Sen. Joe Lieberman in the party's primary Tuesday. Lieberman is mounting an independent campaign and Alan Schlesinger is the Republican candidate.
The Green Party of Connecticut submitted 13,000 signatures Wednesday on behalf of Ralph Ferrucci, the party's candidate for the U.S. Senate.

One imagines this siphons more votes away from the J.P. Morgan heir.

It's a race between a RINO, the left, the far left and the kook left. That's what I like about America...there are so many choices. < /sarc>

Yes the Greens will definitely take Ned's votes away. Pat should jump in and get the CT anti-semitic Jihad vote (which also be taken from cut and run Lamont). Then is Liberman for sure.

All Republicans should vote for Lieberman. Push him over Lemont. We all know the Republican has no chance of winning in CT so just give it all to Joe

This seems to help Lieberman, does it not?Of course it does. It siphons votes away from the J.P. Morgan heir.
In case anyone is wondering, the Connecticut Republicans made a mistake earlier this year, selecting a near-nonentity as the Republican nominee, under the assumption that Joseph Lieberman would be unbeatable.....and so barring some cataclysmic event, the Republicans aren't even in this race.
It's between the incumbent senator Joseph Lieberman and the Wall Street scion, the Republican candidate being immaterial. But it is possible the Republican candidate and the wealthy one will run neck-and-neck now, for the distant second place.

Damn....maybe Ross Perot wants to jump in there, too?
To: franksolich
There is no Republican with name recognition in Connecticut to win this race. Maybe Jack Welch can throw is hat into the ring and run as a Republican. At least he can do better than Alan Schlesinger.

Well, it might be an idea worth exploring, finding a last-minute decent Republican candidate.
It's not that the other side hasn't done this before.
