Didn't Castro make a live appearance today with Raul? It was on Fox. So he ain't dead.
Fidel did NOT make a live appearance with Raul or anyone else today. Raul greeted Venezuelan President Chavez at the airport. Fidel couldn't make it because he's in a freezer somewhere.
When was the last time you saw a newspaper with the front page reverse-folded?
He survived; they did not; but since he looks better. . .they used that copy.
That said; he is not looking to well, in any event.
He's probably got a dozen of them. He's probably getting paid by Addias to wear it.
No, the real question is "Why is the paper STAPLED to his finger"?
And the other question is "Why no AUDIO"?
Fidel was nothing if not verbose and bombastic. Why has he not spoken !
What first struck me is the odd furniture in the room. There appears to be a made bed in the background, but what is Castro sitting on? The 2 objects seem misplaced and the shadow of the newspaper is not right.
Both his hair and beard are gray....and "this guy" has very little gray.

It's a proof. It's also printed on better quality paper than an actual newspaper, as you can note from the brightness of the paper. If you'll look in the upper left hand corner of the paper, you can see the staple holding the sheets together. I suspect that these photos were from when he was approving "proofs" of the newspaper announcing his recovery, printed before he underwent whatever procedures he was going to have.
So. Either its a photo shop, or a print off of the page was made and carried to him. He is not holding an actual copy of that days paper. Plus the color is different than the real paper. Red vs. black.
The real question is why is he sporting a red/white/blue Addidas sweat shirt???Because they're probably made in Cuba.
It's a galley not the final printed paper.

Must be bad eyesight on my part, or an apparition. I'll take your word for it. I was busy Freeping at the time on my laptop in my easy chair (that will teach me to freep and try to watch TV at the same time) and just glanced up and saw Raul, while thinking Castro was next to him somehow. Maybe he IS dead, and what I saw was a ghost (Fidel didn't want to miss getting his birthday cake from Chavez). Time to check the strength of my eyeglasses. Thanks for the correction.
I think there's only three or four people around here who know who Mitch Miller is...and you and I are two of 'em.
Castro is likely paranoid about being poisoned (especially right now.)
He probably only reads laser print (rather than real newspapers) printed out by a trusted aid.
