CLINTONISM: THE VULGARIZATION OF AMERICA © (Part IIl)
THE LEGACY AND THE LUNACY
by Norman Liebmann
It is time to consider again Tennessee Williams’ poignant advice that “There is a time to depart even when there’s no place to go”. Even Albert Einstein for who Time and Space was child’s play, would not have been able to formulate an equation that accounts for Bill Clinton’s ability to defy the disparity between distance and departure. Clinton has learned how to make every empty gesture -except how to wave bye-bye.
H.L. Mencken said, “Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public”. He might have added, neither did anyone ever go broke underestimating the duplicity of the American press. Unhappily, nobody can win an argument with the press, because not only do they get the last word, but they get it every day.
Journalists believe events are news because they accumulate them and become analysis only after they inject their bias. Hence the media’s chronic day-after-day sameness. The media’s anal retentive obsession “fair and balanced” is only achieved at the sacrifice of right and wrong. They believe banality improves with repetition and that somehow “usual” becomes a metaphor for “acceptable”. No amount of circulation ventilates the political atmosphere of the fetid aroma of Clintonism. It is no longer inconceivable that the world stands at the edge of Armageddon because of a warped lout from Arkansas.
Bill Clinton is the media’s lightning rod, and believes if you are standing next to him during the Apocalypse you will be safe from God’s wrath and typographical boo-boos. No one public figure has inspired journalists to such paroxysms of rhapsodic adulation since John Dillinger. The media, notwithstanding, the more evolved elements consider Clinton’s membership in humanity at the least “subject to review”.
The Clinton experience demonstrated that whenever they need a malleable, conscienceless clod to front for them, the Bilderbergers, Tri-lateralists, and the media can always reach into that preserve of live bait shops and illegal distilleries we know as Arkansas and pluck one out. A case in point, in 1992 America was offered Bob Kerrey, winner of The Congressional Medal of Honor, and the media backed Bill Clinton, winner of The Congressional Medal of Turpitude (with oak leaf clusters). The rest is not history, but ignominy.
If what is laughably called The Clinton Legacy instructs us, it is that religion is better than no morality at all. Bill and his bride are radical secularists, unlike Julius and Ethel Rosenberg who at least believed in something. Bill Clinton could betray his country for a lark. The media makes Bill’s treason appear casual, and Hillary’s corruption appear chic. They are narcotized by his yokel charm. It is a relationship not unlike the swami flautist and his pet cobra, only in this case the cobra calls the tune and the media keeps feeding it the mice. In Clinton’s service the media has become a conveyor belt of euphemisms (e.g. defecation is diplomacy; toilet paper is truth).
A Judas press gave America a Judas president. Beyond anything George Orwell could conjure up in his concept of “doublethink”, sophistry is Clinton’s gadget of choice for betraying the nation. A sucker media viewed Bill Clinton’s collusion with the Red Chinese, and overwrote treason as “trade”. Clinton’s exchange of missile and nuclear technology for Chinese and North Korean campaign money (read bribes) eradicated the not so fine line between treachery and diplomacy. Bill Clinton sprinkled Asia with nuclear technology and made your family homestead ground zero. For the media that was a sign of Clinton’s generosity. It did not register with them that one nuclear warhead could leave the other 49 states looking like his native Arkansas. His nuclear-enabling of Kim Jong Il placed the nation under the pendulum of thermonuclear doom. Clinton took the campaign money and ran. Just as Gene Kelly danced in the rain, Bill Clinton will fandango in the fallout.
To this day the media is the body shop that hammers out all the unsightly dents in Bill Clinton’s reputation. Equally, they are the cosmeticians that abet Hillary Clinton in her attempt to grow young gracefully. To soften her image the paparazzi covers their camera lenses with half the inventory of Johnson and Johnson’s gauze. Cameramen give her more flattering backlighting than the Gish Sisters got throughout their entire silent movie careers. If Bill Clinton lined a cat box with a copy of the United States Constitution, CNN would report it as evidence of his kindness to animals. Bill Clinton deals in silver linings. Had Bubba been at Calvary the liberal press would disseminate an account of how he shinnied up the cross and consoled the Savior in his death agony by assuring Him, "The economy is good”.
The Clinton/media axis continues to cross-absolve each other. The media's worship of the Clintons will have the Vatican scholars searching scripture for a new definition of blasphemy. To label Bill a traitor is to suggest a previous capacity for loyalty incompatible with his nature. His body rejects patriotism the same way it rejects marital fidelity. The media rationalizes, Bill may be a traitor, but he’s our traitor. The media took the position that nothing Clinton does with his genitals can cause permanent damage. They insulated him from criticism with such artfully crafted phraseology as “consensual rape”. They vindicated him with the minimizing mantra "It’s only about sex". They would have been less dismissive if they were obliged to squeegee Clinton’s sperm off the Oval Office walls.
A spaniel-like adulation of Bill Clinton is a media benchmark. Katie Couric has filled the gap left by Dan Rather in that capacity. It is rumored Rather might soon become the anchorman on the Al Jazeera Network where he will seek to give himself journalistic stature by changing his name to Edward R. Mustafa. Forty four years of Dan Rather has not improved The Six-O’clock News. (He made The CBS Evening News less interesting, just inevitable.)
The world was Bill Shakespeare’s oyster. The media is Bill Clinton’s apparatus. Murphy’s Law declares that anything that can go wrong will go wrong. Clinton’s Law is that anything he does wrong will be rushed to the NPR (National Prophylaxis Club) where they will sanitize all damning evidence, denials, contradictions, oxymorons, ambiguities, and warehouse photographic scrapbooks of Democrat luminaries loitering near schoolyards.
The Clintons know any public official investigating them will be pilloried by the press and back down. Bill Clinton has no honor to defend and yet the press goes to the moon to defend it. Every episode of his corruption deepens their devotion to him. They insulate him from all negativity. Rather than give him bad news, the media pounds sunshine up his ass. (It went underreported that during his visit to Africa Bill Clinton started a stampede across the Serengeti Plain - the wildebeest never before having seen a crooked politician in the wild.)
Bubba’s opinions are widely sought by fawning interviewers, yet no matter how much they scratch the surface there is nothing but surface. His witless Ozark aphorisms are kibble for this pet shop press. After thousands of Q and A sessions, journalists have not caught on to the fact that this Arkansas yokel is about as shallow as a birdbath and as humorous as a crack in a glass eyeball.
With media complicity Bill Clinton has made the Democrat Party the outhouse of governance and the increment by which we measure political excrement. Clinton’s claque is not a party but a festival of treason. The last Democrat politician who was trusted by the American people was FDR, but only because he was crippled by polio and couldn’t run from the police.
LIES
The media is a landlocked piracy from which the truth is made to walk the plank. The San Francisco Chronicle doesn’t need a shakeup, it needs a mutiny. At The New York Times retractions are written before the ink on the lie can dry. The media modus operandi never varies. Clinton supplies the woof and the media supplies the warp. Clinton lies and the media lies about what he lies about. Clinton knows there is no better venue to hide a lie than in the media. If one of his lies is shot down by the truth there is a journalist nearby ready to revive it with mouth-to-mouth substantiation.
For the media there is an aesthetic component that makes Clinton’s prevarications palatable, but only because they have so highly diluted them. Where someone else lies, he merely “fudges”. If you ask Bill Clinton what time it is, get the answer in writing. If he says two and two is four consider it a matter or opinion. His twisted mathematical calculations will bring a mainframe computer to its knees. If he points to the sky and says that is the direction of up, get another opinion. If he tells you his name, ask to see some I.D and then hold it up to the light. If he gives you change of a dollar, bite the coins. If he stands next to your womenfolk, when they get home dust them for fingerprints. If he tells you water is wet, say “No way!” Don’t enter into a handshake agreement with him because his handshake has been known to “bounce”. If he gives you his word of honor, laugh. All of these caveats somehow escape the attention of the press.
PROFILE
This college drop out, suspended lawyer, career traitor, Viagra -assisted rapist and draft dodger, has blossomed into a 60 year-old flower child. The fact is, the Clintons really are their media image – unprincipled, selfish and irrelevant except to those more unprincipled, selfish and irrelevant than themselves. The Clintons measure their support at the polls by counting the mops near the voting booths.
Remarkably, Bill and Hillary are able to poison the nation without succumbing to its ill-effects of the toxins they exude. One might assume that the Clintons, unlike the media, have a natural immunity to Clintonism. Bill regards Satan a co-conspirator. The media regards Satan as a colleague. If there is one advantage the Devil has over Bill Clinton is The Prince of Darkness doesn’t have to take a poll to find out what people think of him. The media takes Bill Clinton popularity polls relentlessly hoping to find data that will repudiate the conventional wisdom about him. The media lacks sufficient character to say Bill Clinton lacks sufficient character. It is enough for the public to know of Bill Clinton, what you see is what you deserve.
Bill Clinton has sprung a leak in his charisma. His support among bitchy broads is ebbing. Soccer moms are on The Endangered Yenta List. The mainstream media has become journalism’s Hesperus foundering in the shallows of Bill’s popularity. Its monopoly on public information is history. Bill Clinton may yet come to realize he is in a disaster at sea and decide the safest expedient would be to lock himself in his cabin. (The mainstream media is now considering backing Hillary for the Presidency on the assumption that the White House needs another coat of slime.)
Where we are now is where Bill Clinton brought us – into the twilight of the Apocalypse. All that remains is for the media to falsify hope. The liberals decry the chaos in the world as George W. Bush’s fault. They have the right idea. They have the wrong President.

Old Norm sure tells it like it is! I guess he's not a friend of the Clintoon's and hope he watches his back. :)
BUMP!
With media complicity Bill Clinton has made the Democrat Party the outhouse of governance and the increment by which we measure political excrement.
-bflr-
"Oh boy" ping. LOL.
Lately, Bill has been dead weight, look what he did to Joe Lieberman. Perhaps I should get rid of him.
/Sarcasm OFF
Where to start? There are more good one-liners than in a Henny Youngman performance.
Deciept, thy name is Democrat for certain.
I have long noted that when I see a politically-oriented tome, whether it be a flyer, publication, or website, if there is no up-front indication of agenda or leanings the organization is invariably leftist. A Republican or conservative outlet will usually say so, right up front, with clear language. If all one finds on initial contact is flowery platituides then a bit of digging usually reveals the source to be Democrat/Left/Communist/Utopian in nature.
Lately I am noticing it even in campaign signs. Signage for Republican candidates displays the elephant logo or the word "Republican" prominently. Many of the Dems' posters do not even endeavor to be that honest. Instead they tend to show simply the candidate's name and some brief pie-in-the-sky vagueries with no mention of the party. Nothing like sincerity there - as usual.
Good Lord. First time I've seen it. It really IS a trailer!
Powerful, wonderful writing. Well done piece regarding a sad testament to the 43%.
And he doesn't fade away well.
Rush Limbaugh always saus Clinton's library looks like a trailer..lol
