Agreed. Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon will be shown to be battles within a larger context. The war is just beginning, IMHO.
To: WaterDragon
Arabs have a habit of delaring victory while the battle is still in progress and when the lose is obvious. This one is still in play.

The Lebanese are talking about incorporating the Hezzies into their Army. The big losers are the Lebanese, and they are the authors of their own misfortune, not the Israelis.

"Why is there no country in the West with gumption enough to WIN a war?"
Your rant is so right.

A lot of Christians were run off. Let's see how many expats go back. However, The geography of Lebanon is not defensible. Without Christians, the territory would be part of Syria.

The last I checked we made the Saudis send aid.

What makes me say the Lebanese are the authors of their own misfortune?
There's no way all that armament got into the country without the Lebanese government knowing all about it. And there is no way in a country that size that the Lebanese people would not know all about the build up in the south. Did they think they'd never get the bill?
Did you see this?

"Hezbollah Victory?Says who?"
Anyone with brains!
The Israeli's still have not had the return of their Solders.
Condi Rice is another Neville Chamberlain; we will see more deaths in the future caused by this agreement. Syria and Iran are still running the show. What a farce!

Thanks, I enjoyued reading that. I hope people like him are ready to put a cork in the wine bottle and roll up their sleeves. They ae getting a lot more help than they might deserve.
something that irks me is the bit about 2 soldier repeated again. He accuratley says, "And if attacking a sovereign nation on its territory, assassinating eight of its soldiers, kidnapping two others and, simultaneously, launching missiles on nine of its towns does not constitute a casus belli, the latter juridical principle will seriously need revising."
To: ClaireSolt
I wish I could find the article, but there was a story earlier with a cabinet level Lebanese official saying that Hezbollah fighters were welcome to join the Lebanese Army. They might as well just blow up their own buildings then! It would save a lot of trouble.

Tactically Israel took ground and inflicted losses......strategically Israel achieved diddly. Iran (and their Chinese handlers) are the winner, the face of the Mid East has changed for the worse.....this party is just starting.

This is called leverage. John Bolton talked all along of two resolutions. That keeps everyone engaged, and keeps the UN from thinking they can go back to raping African girls or something.
To: Rokke
Like the Democrats, the Hezzies declared a "moral victory."
Well as we like to say to those who think that moral victories mean something, "isn't that special?"

Only the Junk media could believe Democrats or terrorists think win "moral victories" by getting their butts kicked.
But of course the Freeper Sack Cloth and Ashes crowd would rather have a new excuse whine endlessly then hear reality.
