David Copperfield says he's found Fountain of Youth
By Jane Sutton Tue Aug 15

The man who made the Statue of Liberty appear to vanish may soon claim to do the same for unsightly bags and wrinkles.

Master illusionist David Copperfield says he has found the "Fountain of Youth" in the southern Bahamas, amid a cluster of four tiny islands he recently bought for $50 million (26.4 million pounds).

One of his islands in the Exuma chain, Musha Cay, is a private resort that rents for up to $300,000 a week and the other islands serve as buffers to keep prying eyes away from celebrity guests on the white sand beaches.

Copperfield is coy about his reasons for the Fountain of Youth claim, but the man best known for entertaining with grand deception insists his archipelago also contains the legendary waters that bestow perpetual youth. Seriously.

"I've discovered a true phenomenon," he told Reuters in a telephone interview. "You can take dead leaves, they come in contact with the water, they become full of life again. ... Bugs or insects that are near death, come in contact with the water, they'll fly away. It's an amazing thing, very, very exciting."

Copperfield, who turns 50 next month, said he had hired biologists and geologists to examine its potential effect on humans but he's not inviting visitors to swim in or drink from it just yet.

We have at LEAST 33% of our population that are dumbasses.

The numbers are much higher than that - look at the things people buy and wear and watch on TV these days.

Sadly, what Mr. Copperfield neglects to realize is, fountain of youth or not, he's still a phenomenal dork.

The fact that he has it. Did you not read the post? LOL.

I must be dense.

The man has 50 million which in todays money is not really a lot of jack. He spends it on an private island for himself. He is extremely talented and in a very exclusive club of magicians, so it's not surprising at all he has 50 million to buy himself an island.

After he successful markets the island as a "fountain of youth" he will sell for probably 150 million.

Yes, I find that also very disturbing < / sarc>

So, has he tried it on himself, and what does he look like now?

No pictures?

"Let me guess....In a year or so he'll be selling his own bottled water."

I saw a special about the springs down there a few years ago. The characteristic of the water was that it had high levels of Lithium. It makes you feel better. There's already a similar water on the market and I think it's called Willard's Water.

Or, you can get a prescription for some even better lithium compounds. Make you feel better all time.

"How does one know if a bug or insect is near death?"

Oh, that's easy. In these parts, they crawl on the ground, clutching their thoraxes melodramatically.......extending a front leg as if reaching out for help, their little tongues hanging out (bugs do have tongues, don't they?), compound eyes pointed skyward, and pant a lot.

If you watch and listen closely, you'll catch them saying "....help......me.........it's......time........help......."
