ROME (Reuters) - A British passenger plane described as belonging to low-cost airline Excel has been diverted to the southern Italian airport of Brindisi because of a bomb scare, the Italian news agency Ansa reported on Friday.

Ansa said the plane, a Boeing 767, was on route from Gatwick airport near London to Egypt when the pilot asked to land at Brindisi. But local police in Brindisi told Reuters they could not confirm it was because of a suspected bomb on board.

ROME (Reuters) - A British passenger plane operated by low-cost airline Excel was diverted to the southern Italian airport of Brindisi because of a bomb scare on Friday, the Italian air force and emergency services said.

Passengers were evacuated from the Boeing 767 straight after landing and Italian anti-terrorist police were on the scene, the air force and fire brigade in Brindisi said.

"An Italian air force jet fighter from Sicily was dispatched to escort the plane to Brindisi were it landed at 1531 local time (1331 GMT)," the air force official told Reuters.

Hope everyhting works out OK for the passengers - and this will be classic - up there with 'The Other Dave' threads.

What about that for a UN compromise. Israel gives the land back on condition it is named Palnestine. Do you think Kofe would broker that?

The thing that really makes you just roll your eyes and wonder "WTF?" is how liberals actually believe that before the state of Israel came into existence, that the middle-east was a land of milk and honey and no terrorism occured.

She may be a skank, but playing that skank card made her something like $260 million dollars last year, wasnt that what was reported on another thread a month or so ago?

She either has some incredible business managers, or she is developing a business savy herself or both.
