High suicide rate for older white males WASHINGTON, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Older white males have the highest suicide rate in the United States, said the Population Reference Bureau in Washington.

Suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in the United States with 11 suicide deaths per 100,000 Americans.

White males are more than eight times as likely to kill themselves as women of the same age and the risk increases as they get older, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Suicide experts are unable to pinpoint an exact cause for the higher rate but some believe white males lack the resilience and coping mechanisms that women and other ethnic groups have.

They also point to the fact that males are socialized to be in control and are less apt to seek help for depression which leads to suicide.

What we are seeing is the Baby Boomer Generation, which is a huge part of the political Far Left, coming up on infirmity in terms of the physical body, a state of degradedness that has finally caught up to their deranged and pitiful minds which have been virtually destroyed for decades now by heavy drug abuse and denial of reality.

And this high suicide rate will only become worse because we are just in the first wave of the Baby Boomer's cashing it in. Check again in 2, 4 and 6 years from now and the numbers will be astonishing.

Coupled with that, the suicide rate is going to be especially high when President Bush leaves office. Because the Left has been living in a cocoon they have made for themselves, due to the fact that they have always just had a slim grip of reality, but in the Bush years they have totally immersed themselves into an unreality where as long as President Bush is the bad guy then everything is OK because he is the danger they can understand as The Big Evil and everything wrong and threatening is his fault (as they see it).

But once President Bush leaves office then they will stripped of their alternate reality because the threats will still be manifesting themselves and Bush will be gone. That will send a great many of the Far Left into a free-fall where the only last cocoon they can wrap themselves into is death. And they will do it, think contemplate it nearly every single day. The numbers will be very high indeed. I recommend investing in the funeral industry.

When I reread the article after my emotions had subsided I saw my own error in statistical analysis. The article states that the suicide rate for elderly white males is three times 11 people per 100,000 population - about 33 people per 100,000. I think the rate here in Alaska - again, I don't have the precise figures while typing this out - is about 40 people per 100,000. Now that doesn't translate into huge numbers, since there are only about 100,000 Native Alaskans to begin with.

So let me put this statistic personally. I've taught about 120 students in my 7-year career out here in the Bush. (Small schools, tiny villages.) Five have killed themselves. About a dozen have tried and failed. That's not what I faced in my Connecticut high school back in the late 60s and early 70s. Just this summer, we've had a few suicides up and down the river. It's so common that it isn't even commented on except as a cause of death.
