NYC's Republican Mayor Endorses Blagojevich

Topinka Spokesman Dismisses Endorsement (CBS) CHICAGO -- Gov. Rod Blagojevich has won a surprising endorsement from the Republican mayor of New York City.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg was in Chicago on Thursday to promote New York as a host of the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

Bloomberg called Blagojevich a fighter for the people of Illinois, especially in health care issues.

“If I lived here, I would vote for him,” Bloomberg said of the Democratic governor.

In response, a spokesman for GOP rival Judy Baar Topinka dismissed Bloomberg’s endorsement as from an “out of towner.”

Correction: NYC does NOT have a Republican mayor.

They have Michael Bloomberg, who defines perfectly what a 'RINO' is.

This is just a dog bites man story.

Wow, Blagojevich is conservative, or is it that Bloomberg is liberal?

It's so difficult to decide.

What the hell is it with these guys in the Northeast who call themselves Republican, but always endorse the Democrat, vote Democrat, oppose Republicans?

Of more relevance, what the hell is it with these Republican primary voters who nominate these guys? The police ought to be investigating: there's blatant, unapologetic identity theft going on!

Yep. Shortly after 9/11. He only became mayor because he rode Guliani and Bush's coattails.

The good folks in the Hawkeye State won't have it.

Speaking of Iowa, I saw Frist doing media interviews in front of a corn dog stand today. Didn't hear what he was talking about (TV was on mute) but Rush and I took notice. LOL

Apparently, a RINO from New York can't bring himself to endorse a RINO from Illinois. Judy Baar . . . [spit].

Yep. Hopefully Frist end his tenure in the Senate and go back to his job as heart surgeon. Allen is my guy, in fact, when he called that Democrat hack the equivalent of a "monkey" he went up a couple notches in my book.

Every GOP mayor of NYC for the past 50 years has been a RINO - Lindsay, Rudy and Bloomberg. If they weren't RINOs, they never would have been elected.

For those of us in Illinois that don't seem to be able to cast a vote without violating our conscience, there is one write in candidate from the Constitution Party.

Randy Stufflebeam

"Health care" to Bloomberg means abortion. I believe Blagojevich has made his mark in that area by standing up against pharmacists with a conscience.

So, we get another slanted headline from a media outlet. It is not like the man is a conservative. He is one of "them" and the article never makes any mention of the fact.

Randy Stufflebeam, anybody but the RINO...

In any event, I was going to say Mikey is right, but for the WRONG reasons. I mean, you don't get much more liberal and establishment than Judy Topinka Canyon Saddle Burr, you'd think she'd be "the $hit" to him. Guess not.

That intrusive move by the mayor into the politics of another state, would seem part and parcel of his quixotic dream of running for president under some moniker.

>> You'd think Bloomberg would support his fellow RINO Topinka <<

The irony is that RINO Topinka has a nasty habit of also endorsing liberal Dems. Nice to see it coming back to bite her in the @$$. Not too fun being on the receiving end, eh, Judy?

RINOs only back other RINOs when they have a chance to thwart conservatives in the primary. In the general election, back stabbing RINOs will endorse socialist DemocRAT candidates if it's in their best interest. Bloomberg, Topinka, and others are only "Republican" because it happened to help their career move at the time.

He is a die hard Globalist as is Giuliani.

Some of these guys are dreamers in a Utopia

I don't see anyone in the future to be a good common sense mayor.

Is it not a puzzle that WABC is #1 talk in NYC and we have all these liberal or a controled election?

Which is it?
