MURTHA: Well I'll tell you exactly what happened. One Marine was killed and the Marines just said we're gonna take care...we don't know who the enemy is, the pressure was too much on them, so they went into houses and actually killed civilians and...I...

MATTHEWS: Was this My Lai? When you say cold blood Congressman, a lot of people think you're basically saying you've got some civilians sitting in a room or out in a field and they're executed on purpose...

MURTHA: That's exactly what happened.

MATTHEWS: ...not because any of the Marines are scared or anybody is scared...

MURTHA: ...this was not an action...this was not...first they tried to say it was an IED, there was no IED involved in this. This was troops, they were so stressed out, they went into houses and killed children, women and children. 24 people they killed. Now this is the kind of stress they are under. Listen, I don't excuse it, but I understand what's happening and the responsibility goes right to the top. This is something that should not have happened, that should have been investigated, they've already relieved three commanding officers...but this is the kind of stuff...stress is going to cause these kind of things. That's why I'm so upset about it.

MATTHEWS: Congressman, I just want to read something from the Marine Corps and then you can continue. The Marine Corps told us today that they're not going to comment today because the investigation is still ongoing. So they're investigating...

Hopefully a lot of folks around here are still upset about this treasonous comment from Jackass Murtha, plus many more outrageous claims. But so what?

If it really upsets you, have you done anything about it? Posted a few angry remarks on a thread (status quo), or have you done something meaningful?

What's my definition of meaningful?

• Speak the only language most of these politicians understand - support Murtha's opponent Diana Irey. Support can mean money, signing up for her campaign E-mails, volunteering your time, forwarding her URL to all your friends in or near PA, etc.
• Write a letter to the editor supporting your troops and publicly chastising Murtha and calling for his resignation.
• Support Boot Murtha, a group of angry veterans organizing to defeat the disgraceful EX-Marine in November
• Double your efforts to thank servicemembers you know, letting them see Murtha is NOT speaking for most Americans.
• Send a care package and/or letter to troops deployed overseas
• Stop by a recruiter's office with a handshake, a kind word, and/or a nice food item... to show you care and recognize their difficult environment

Well to me cold blood is making up your mind one day you feel like killing and go somwhere pick a victim and kill that person.

Now these fellows lost a comerade, they are tired of being used as targets, They have just narrowly escaped being killed themselves and they are pissed. Thier blood wasnt cold it was hot. The people around where they lost it were either part of the insurgency or they watched the insurgency set up the killing site and did nothing except to stand by anbd watch Americans get killed.

Now right or wrong there was nothing cold bloodd about this act, It was a hot blooded, pissed off, action caused by the present conditions at the time.

Mr, Murtha calling this a cold -blooded act has to be stupid as a bag of dog poop . It may have been a mistake , but it was no cold blooded mistake.

Isn't it amazing how the outlook of an event can change when the "facts" start coming out. Facts that the despicable Murtha was not concerned about when he called the Haditha Marines guilty of cold blooded murder.

Diana Irey will be a refreshing change from the sorry actions of Mutha in the House of Representatives.

Isn't it amazing how the outlook of an event can change when the "facts" start coming out.

Indeed it is. And if these Marines are in fact innocent, they'll have no place to go to get their reputations back. But wouldn't it be a nice consolation for them to see Murtha kicked to the curb and utterly humiliated in November? But that's not gonna happen unless a lot more people get involved.
