How does "life" occur with no soul present, as tkathy posits? What IS life? Life is the presence of the living soul.

I agree. Having children proved that to me. There was a person inside with definite likes and dislikes--even down to preferences (cravings) for certain foods.

If what tkathy says is true, we would all be akin to androids before we took our first breath at birth. In any case the unborn are breathing already, just not air.

Not only are the little unborn ones breathing in the womb (taking fluids in and out of their little lungs) but it is a specific fetal exhalation chemical that triggers uterine contractions which lead to birth!

Whenever I hear "slippery slope" the image of a precipitous plunge into the abyss will be my first thought....


...having spent a couple of mornings holding a sign in front an abortion clinic there are some images burned into my head forever....backdrop/setting would make even the best Hollywood producer envy.....pro-life folks praying constantly, holding signs, walking to avoid loitering laws, their breath turning white in the cold winter air, sounds from footsteps and catholics praying the rosary, "pro-choice" death-sorts (escorts) wearing yellow shirts to help people feel comfortable walk their baby to its death as they walk by pro-life folks pleading with them that they will help them, food, shelter, whatever they needed.....police with barricades indicating where pro-life may be and not be, standing still as statues almost in the posture of a Roman guard...it was just surreal being there.....There as a moment I will never forget.... a boy pulling and tugging on a girls arm to the 'clinic' with tears streaming down her face....at that point nearly everything was quiet, her sobs heard above the footsteps and the rosary....when I see the door open to the clinic in my head after reading that all I see now is precipice looking into an abyss behind the door...
