Supreme Court, Gregoire don't mix
Spokesman-Review ^ | 8-25-06 | Justice Sanders

Posted on 08/25/2006 9:06:16 AM PDT by truth49

W ashington Gov. Chris Gregoire recently announced she'll be dialing for big dollar contributions to her favorite political action committee to influence the course of this fall's Supreme Court elections. She has raised over $100,000 to date with some individual contributions in the $20,000-$30,000 range, all well above the $1,400 individual contribution limits to a candidate.

Contrast this with Gov. Gregoire's May 1, 2006, Law Day speech to a dinner hosted by the Trial Lawyers. There she proclaimed judges should not be for sale and that large contributions to judicial campaigns threaten an independent judiciary.

This comes from a governor who raised more than $6.3 million for her own election, $4.64 for every vote she received. By contrast, the most money raised by a Supreme Court candidate in that same statewide election was $539,000, only 46 cents per vote, little more than a postage stamp. She outspent the "big spending" Supreme Court candidate 12 to 1, and now worries the court is for sale?

However, I do share concern about any threat to an independent judiciary. But we must recall the independence about which we speak is independence from the legislative, and particularly the executive branch, not the general public.

Princess Gregoire's first official act was to make her husband some sort of advisor for $50,000 a year ....

Someone needs to strongly encourage an investigation into all the Democrat voter fraud that took place in Washington State as well as all over the country in the last Governor election. Lock a few of them up. But nobody from the RNC in Washington seemed to care.... and Dino Rossi lost.

Didn't Gregoire actually lose the election? Something to do with vote fraud?

sorry, I am used to making that comment in Washington State where people recognize the implied sarcasm.

However, there is proof that dead people and felons voted in the last election, where after the 3rd reount, and a box a previously uncounted ballots was miraulously discovered in liberal bastion King County, Gregoire won with just over 100 votes. Rossi had won the previous two counts.

The courts in their wisdom decided that there was no way to show that the illegal votes would have altered the outcome of the race. It was fraud and the whole state knows it.

During the third and final "recount" (really a re-canvass) that put Fraudoire over the top, didn't King Co. election (fraud) officials keep "finding" so-called "lost" ballots what, nine separate times? That governor's race was probably the most blatant example of in-your-face fraud and election theft I have ever seen.

Then to add insult to injury, the 'Rats have no problem swallowing Fraudoire's 129-vote "victory", yet scream from the rooftops about "fraud" in Ohio where Bush won by 110,000+ votes. Sheesh...

She belongs in jail....along with about 100 of her like minded friends.

Not that 100 would clear the deck, but it would send a message.

There were plenty who cared, but a poorly constructed defense by the Republican lawyers was practically laughed out of court.

Election fraud is rife in Washington state, and there is little that anyone other than citizens are doing to address it. Frustration with the RNC is palpable, and conservative residents are increasingly of the opinion that they've been abandoned...

Here are Justice Sanders' and Justice Jim Johnson's comments at the Evergreen Freedom Foundation's June policy session: "Freedom and the Courts." Sanders starts at 9:48 and Johnson at 37:43. Q&A starts at 1:10:20.

I was stunned at how they didn't even try to hide their fraud. It was unbelievably brazen.

Yeah, for some people it is true. It realy is outrageous, I guess I was so stunned that they actually pulled the "oh, here's a whole bunch of votes we forgot to count the last two times" that I didn't protest nearly as much as I should have.

Where's RFK Jr.'s book on Washington State?

Tons of it.

See www.soundpolitics.com

Steve Sharkansky's excellent conservative blog of WA state politics.

He has ongoing history of all voter shenanigans, including the current crap going on right now in King County with the Elections Commisioner.
