They'll do some yelling about the Zionist and Infidels,"death to America, death to Israel" (as if it's two individuals) but that's about it. The extremest can still pull of some attacks but overall most of the countries are just too war fatigued to really come to anyone else's aid.

Unless the IDF/AF has in-flight re-fueling capabilities and electromagnetic supression or negotiated basing rights with a country within range, it doesn't have the aircraft with ''legs'' to launch against Iran.

Israel could defeat Iran without using nuclear weapons, but Europe's too cowardly and appeasing to even try to disarm Hezbollah. Europe whined and threatened Israel into stopping its rightful occupation in only four weeks, lied to the world about Hezbollah/civilian casualties, then whined that Israel didn't finish mop-up during that unreasonably short time.

Israel has the courage that is absent in Europe.

As far as I know, the Telegraph is not deliberately leaking anything, since talk about Israel taking out Iranian nuclear facilities has been going on now for the better part of a year.

BTW, the Telegraph is considered very much conservative in their political outlook, especially in comparison to other large British media outlets.

Tomorrow is the Fourth of July, when Americans celebrate Independence Day. But a YouGov survey for The Daily Telegraph suggests that the Stars and Stripes will be flying at half mast in the eyes of most Britons. There has probably never been a time when America was held in such low esteem on this side of the Atlantic.

A majority of Britons think American culture and the actions of the present American administration are making the world a worse place to live in, and almost no one believes America is now, if it ever was, a beacon to the world. Well over half of those interviewed regard the US as an imperial power bent on dominating the world by one means or another.

Now the Conservative-leaning Daily Telegraph, Britain's best-selling quality daily, and previously one of the only papers in Europe to give Israel a fair hearing, has got in on the act. The cartoon at the top of the Telegraph comment page last Saturday showed two identical scenes of devastation, exactly the same in every detail. One was labelled: "Warsaw 1943"; the other: "Tyre, 2006." The suggestion, of course, is that modern Israel is no different from Nazi Germany.

Beyond warm words, what has Britain received from Mr Bush in return for the Prime Minister's unconditional and uncritical support? If there is an answer to that question other than "Nothing", it is extremely difficult to see what it is . . . Above all, the occupation of Iraq has not had the glorious results that Mr Bush predicted for it. The country has sunk into violent sectarian strife. The total lack of planning for a post-invasion future has led to anarchy and an inability to rebuild Iraq's shattered infrastructure. American companies have proved themselves unable to reconstruct Iraq.
