Iran president challenges authority of U.N. Security Council, wants to debate Bush (Breaking)

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) _ President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Tuesday challenged the authority of the U.N. Security Council as Iran faces a deadline to halt its uranium enrichment and he called for a televised debate with President Bush on world issues.

The Security Council has given Iran until Thursday to suspend enrichment, a process that can produce either fuel for a reactor or material for weapons.

``The U.S. and Britain are the source of many tensions,'' Ahmadinejad said at a news conference. ``At the Security Council, where they have to protect security, they enjoy the veto right. If anybody confronts them, there is no place to take complaints to.''

But Iran has refused any immediate suspension, calling the deadline illegal. AP-ES-08-29-06 0825EDT

The only debate that should be taking place regarding that little runt in Tehran should be whether or not to take him out with conventional munitions or with tactical nukes.

Screw that sawed off Hitler and the swastika he rode in on.

Ahmedinejad is hoping the Russians and Chinese will veto sanctions... the imposition of which would be a blow to his regime's prestige. And there is his fear Bush might just act on his own. Which could send a welcome message to freedom fighters inside Iran.

The debate would be interesting, as long as Mike Wallace wouldn't be the moderator.

CBS: Saddam challenges Bush to debate http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/02/24/sprj.irq.saddam.debate/index.html

That was February 2003.

Now another terrorist is challenging President Bush for a debate, he will eventually get the same debate that Saddam got.

It's a pi22ing contest between him and chavez to see who can come out with the most outrageous comments for the press. And these two control major oil producing countries.

You wonder why dictators seem to think Bush doesn't mean it. The most hated man on the planet keeps removing them from power! Its uncanny Ahmedinejad is going down the same path as Saddam Hussein. You would think he would be a more careful student of history.

Liberals always want some kind of rigged debate when they are on the losing end of something...

So he wants a debate on tv. Who will be the moderator Chris Mathews or Mike Wallace?Maybe Osama can come out of his cave to sit in the audience?I thought he was retarded before. now I know there are people who are getting mental help that are better then he is. He can't tie our President's shoes let alone talk to the man one on one.The man is as crazy as Hitler was. Maybe reincarnation is true!

I think he has been watching our domestic situation and believes that Bush does not have the support to do it again; heck, the left practically regards Saddam as a hero, along with their adored Nasrallah, so he may be right.

I am glad that dictators and terrorists do not think that President Bush means what he says because this will lead to their destruction and demise, and the world will be better off with them dead or captured. Unfortunately most people on the Left and some on the Right also “misunderestimate” the President and do not think that he means what he says.
