Bust in Slay of Rudy Aide
New York Post ^ | August 31, 2006 | Philip Messing with Brian Hammacher

A chance encounter....helped cops nab a homeless drug addict now charged with killing an aide to former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani after a gay-sex romp...... Detectives were at a Manhattan employment agency looking for records on the suspect, Edwin Ramos, 26, when Ramos - who hadn't worked there in about a month - showed up.....to collect back pay.

Ramos, a drifter with a long history of drug arrests, made a call using a cellphone that belonged to Martin Barreto, 49, who had worked in the City Hall press office during the Giuliani administration.

Barreto's nude body was found Aug. 21 in the bedroom of the Greenwich Village apartment he shared with a cousin......the suspect stole Barreto's phone, computer, keys and some clothes - then sold the phone and laptop to buy drugs.

Cops said Ramos made statements implicating himself in the murder. "He said he met the guy while walking on the street.....They engaged in a conversation and then he was invited up." The body of the gay exec was discovered in his bed with lubricant and a condom next to him, officials said.

If Allen had said,"Yeah I said it and meant it! Whatchya gonna do about it?" rather than appoligize 200 times, he'd have gone UP 10 pts!

He was totally appropriate for the venue.

What if he had dressed as a Mafia Don?

Maybe it wouldn't be what I would choose, but considering his image, playing against type with that dress up made sense.

The point remains. You know the context but are attempting to imply something defamatory.

You should never run for office as you have reveled YOUR character.

Apples and oranges. George Allen doesn't have a national profile yet. He's being defined now, so a remark that can be made to seem racist is much more serious than a man WHO HAS ESTABLISHED HIS TOUGH GUY IMAGE dressing up as a spoof. Rudy won't be harmed by those photos because he's a known entity.

Before she passed away, the love of my life's brother was gay.

So he turned straight after his sister passed? How'd that happen?

Not, SNL. Every year the NYC mayors office and the press have a dinner at which the folks from the mayors office provide comic entertainment. It was nothing more than a comedy sketch. Boy, I hope there are no pictures left of the Halloween party where I appeared as Raggedy Anne and my girlfriend as Andy.

"Real tight," you say?

Well, that's a relief.

I commend you for not using terms like "point of entry" "behind" or "wanna come up to my pad for a Big Mac" on gay threads.

"Not, SNL. Every year the NYC mayors office and the press have a dinner..."

I stand corrected. I knew it was some kind of comedy skit, though, and not what has been implied here in this thread.

Trust me. It was not a pretty picture although 'Andy' was quite fetching. (batting lashes)

Has anyone seen killer Ramos' "citizenship" papers?

No?

I didn't think so.

Dick Cheney has a gay daughter. Doesn't seem to have hampered his political career at all. :) It's interesting that the anti-Rudy obsessives here haven't much to say about Cheney's situation.

Cheney doesn't advocate a pervert friendly public policy either. The pro-Julie-Annie obsessives haven't much to say about that...

That's a pretty nice shirt for a "homeless drifter". Is that Ralph Lauren?

The press at city hall hated Giuliani, very much on a par with the press hatred of W. At the time of the dinner, the press had been all over him as being insensitive to gays. I think it was because of the police response to some of the Act Up demonstrations at St. Patrick's Cathedral. Anyway, the idea to come out in drag was very much an 'in your face' slap at the press.

The anti Rudy crowd will move to attacking Romney next.

Seems that personal destruction is alive and well here too.
