.357 is a terrific round, accurate, powerful and flexible - just watch out for overpenetration of your doors and walls. Killing someone else sleeping in the house with a missed shot would ruin your day/week/year/life.

El Wrongo. I'll take a well placed shot with a .22 than a near miss with a .357.

For bear, you might want to file the front site down flat with the barrel.

It makes it easier to pull out when he takes it from you and shoves it up your . . .

For bear, I would go bigger. Especially in grizzly country.
