The path to 9/11 (Barone review. Link to movie trailer. Clinton passes on chances to get OBL.)

Last night I attended a screening of the first half of The Path to 9/11 a film that will be broadcast by ABC in two three-hour segments on September 10 and 11. Two and one-half hours is a long time to sit still watching a film, but this one was gripping and tension-filled and visually dazzling. ...
One gripping scene shows Massoud's forces--and CIA agents surrounding bin Laden's encampments and then being called back when National Security Adviser Sandy Berger refuses to give a go-ahead for the operation. That scene, according to 9/11 commission Chairman Thomas Kean, an adviser to the film, is a conflation of a number of events; during the question period, commission member Richard Ben-Veniste, perhaps the most partisan member of the commission, said that it misrepresented what actually happened. But, as Kean pointed out, the Clinton administration did decline a number of opportunities to get bin Laden. ...
If the question is: Has the struggle in Iraq gone on too long? the answers tend to hurt George W. Bush and the Republicans. If the question is: Who will protect us from those who want to destroy us? the answers tend to help Bush and the Republicans. The London bomb plot and these three films help to shift the focus from the first question to the second.

Richard Ben-Veniste, perhaps the most partisan member of the commission, said that it misrepresented what actually happened. And I'm sure he then went on to cite specific facts to support his position.

Oh, yes, a vicious partisan hatchet man like Richard Ben-Veniste would never smear critics, suppress historical facts, or otherwise behave like the perfect Clintonista scumbag...... and of course MSM reporters would never fail to question his presence on the 9/11 Commission or the whitewash of the real record of the Demagogues that people like Ben-Veniste and Jamie Gorelicker have so far been allowed to get away with.......

The war in Iraq is only a problem because democrats have used it as a political ploy to gain power. It is necessary, and the truth of that needs to somehow get out to voters.

This is a more indepth review of the film from frontpage magazine -
One astonishing sequence in "The Path to 9/11" shows the CIA and the Northern Alliance surrounding Bin Ladens house in Afghanistan. They're on the verge of capturing Bin Laden, but they need final approval from the Clinton administration in order to go ahead. They phone Clinton, but he and his senior staff refuse to give authorization for the capture of Bin Laden, for fear of political fall-out if the mission should go wrong and civilians are harmed. National Security Adviser Sandy Berger in essence tells the team in Afghanistan that if they want to capture Bin Laden, they'll have to go ahead and do it on their own without any official authorization. That way, their necks will be on the line - and not his. The astonished CIA agent on the ground in Afghanistan repeatedly asks Berger if this is really what the administration wants. Berger refuses to answer, and then finally just hangs up on the agent. The CIA team and the Northern Alliance, just a few feet from capturing Bin Laden, have to abandon the entire mission. Bin Laden and Al Qaeda shortly thereafter bomb the U.S. embassies in Tanzania and Kenya, killing over 225 men, women, and children, and wounding over 4000. The episode is a perfect example of Clinton-era irresponsibility and incompetence.
This is why we all have a responsibility to talk to any family members, friends, neighbors, coworkers, etc., to educate them about the donks and their view of fighting terrorism ,so they vote GOP this Nov.

This is why Clinton and his people are trying to prevent the showing of this or have it re-edited:
They phone Clinton, but he and his senior staff refuse to give authorization for the capture of Bin Laden, for fear of political fall-out if the mission should go wrong and civilians are harmed. National Security Adviser Sandy Berger in essence tells the team in Afghanistan that if they want to capture Bin Laden, they'll have to go ahead and do it on their own without any official authorization. There is no way the Clintonistas will let this air if it shows the Clintonista regime as letting Bin laden get away, being responsible for 9/11.
The Clintonistas are already mobilizing to kidnap children of ABC executives, producers of the show, etc.

It is shocking that ABC produced this for 40 million dollars! Yet, we have until the 10th of Sept. to keep the pressure on to have this not re-edited or squashed by the Clintoons. All freepers need to assist in this matter. It is of upmost urgency!

It's interesting that ABC would produce something so damaging to the Clintons. One would think ABC would back Hillary for President in 2008. This miniseries would seem to paint Slick and be default Mrs. Slick as soft on terrorism.
In this day and age, it's not very astute to run for national office as soft on terrorism.
Or did ABC know that if they didn't run with this now, someone else would, and getting this out in the open now would allow Mrs. Slick to claim "old news" when queried about it at a later time.

After 911 I e-mailed Lloyd Grove, who was then still with the Washington Post, and told him that Bill Clinton was directly responisible for 911. He e-mailed me back saying my view was a bit far fethced. Not now!!!! Clinton and the Democrat Party are the true murderers of 911, etc. wonder what the "Jersey Girls" have to say about the man that murdered their husbands.

It's all 'out there' now. People have the DVDs of the unedited version. Rush has one. It's also 'out there' that the Clintonistas want it, or at least parts of it supressed.
This is not going to "..go quietly into that dark night."

However the Clintoons and their stooges can have the television version edited or squashed, thus having the greatest impact on those that are ignorant to the facts or do not follow politics.

Watch the videos that go with that link from ABC on the making of the film. Yea, more than once I had tears in my eyes, and OUTRAGE swells in me even now.

I'm not so sure that's right.
They tried to get the Sinclair Network to not carry it. The network left it up to the local stations. AFAIK, that didn't work so well for J. F'n K. Just this week, Pelosi said she ".... wasn't going to get Swiftboated." so the effect was definitely long-lasting.

Exactly right about Kerry's lawyer-goons intimidating the broadcast company to not show the film in it's original format.
If ABC doesn't cave, I'll probably watch it, as long as it's accurate and fair. If they cave or it starts smacking of a Bush-bash, my remote control is always at hand.
