Yes, I caught it too late. Wish we could edit our comments. :)
"One of the reports I heard said that he was making the documentary along with his daughter. Not sure from that short piece what her involvement was. Sad."
I was commenting on whether she was actaully with him, meaning in the water. I don't think she was diving, but its certainly likely she was on the boat.
Tough situation for anyone let alone an 8 yr old.
You are correct, sorry, I didnt read her entire post. Thank you for the correction. :)
Did that tortoise die?
OW....you were lucky.....I would never have known how powerful those tails were if not for this horrible accident. The only time I saw a stingray was at the beach in delray a couple years ago. IT was swimming amazingly so close to the beach that when it was coming through...you were very close up just sitting in the beach......people were yelling down the line to get out of the water. Maybe it was sick...but it was very close to the edge....and HUGE! I was impressed....
You are so wrong and so off base I just can't shake your post from my mind.
Steve was a doting and loving son, father and husband. Just read his tearful accounts of losing his mother. Just watch Steve with his kids. Watch some of the reruns this week and next showing his respect and love for Terri. Steve was as gentle as a dove and he had twice the passion for his loved ones as he did for wildlife.
I'm sorry that Terri and others close to Steve will one day happen upon your words. So, Terri, just know that you're not the only one upset with this poster's ignorance.
Speaking about how "me first" others are without knowing them, especially with all the evidence that says otherwise if you will hunt, shows your lack of depth and ability to discern.
I ask you, are all solders "me first" when they fight and die and leave their kids fatherless? Is dying for country different than dying for your passion in life? I think not.
His children were NOT on site, they were away with mum hiking...
"FROM THE News Article:
His American-born wife, Terri, was trekking in Tasmania's Cradle Mountain and Lake St Clair National Park when the news broke of her husband's death and was last night being raced back to Queensland with her two children Bindi, 8, and Bob, 2."
His talents obviously didnt extend to being a good father.
Has any one mentioned to you yet that you're full of crap?
Consider it done...
Yes, apparently, if you have kids...
I'm not sure if you're envious, bitter, cynical or just plain stupid, but you just might want to do some thinking. I'm guessing Irwin died doing what he loved to do; if you go through life with the kind of bitterness you show here, there's no chance of you ever doing the same.
Lots of reports to compare notes on:

Wonder how much more of this story is incorrect.
The husband of a friend of mine is a firefighter. She says if there is not a summer fire he is antsy throughout the winter. They have two children. I would never think of stating that a firefighter has a "me first" mentality because he's willing to take risks for something he loves doing.
Steve was filming for a new program which he was working on with/for Bindy. It was planned that Bindy was going to narrarate & host the show which was going to be geared to an early childhood audience.
Bindy was not with Steve at the time. I believe the children were hiking with Terri in Tasmania.
I think he's just plain stupid.
I'm suprised the guy lasted as long as he did with the chances he took. RIP.
Start doing abnormal things around well-armed animals and your survival odds drop abruptly.
