In the last five years or so, the Liberals have been mocking patriotism whenever they see it yet feigning ferocious anger whenever they perceive their own patriotism is being questioned. So while they squirm and cringe every time they are subjected to an ordinary American displaying his pride in this great country of ours, they are also suddenly supra-patriots whose motives cannot be seen as anything but those of the purest patriotism no matter how huge a non sequitur it is or how inane it is to suggest that they are patriots. So in the spirit of Jeff Foxworthy, I offer all Freepers this little exercise in analysis of Liberal patriotism.
You may be a Liberal Patriot if:
If you think the least important US agency is the Department of Defense, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think President Bush is a greater threat to peace than al Qaeda and are more angry at him than bin Laden, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think we should only spend money on national defense when it benefits your congressional district, you maybe a patriotic Liberal.
If you think that Ted Kennedy has suffered enough since the Mary Jo Kopechne drowned in his car, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think Kofi Annan cares about the survival of democracy, Western Civilization, and the United States, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think Ann Coulter is mean and Air America is a fair and balanced view of America, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think Bill Clinton did everything possible to keep terrorism at bay, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think Jimmy Carter was wise to let the mullahs come to power in Iran, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think Mel Gibson’s movie “The Passion” was anti-Semitic and a threat to Jews but the UN is a useful tool for world peace, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think Jimmy Carter’s presidency was a success, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think Castro’s Cuba has a splendid health care system that makes up for his human rights abuses, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think Hugo Chavez represents something new and exciting in Latin America, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think the New York Times is interested in protecting American civil liberties when it publishes Top Secret documents that help terrorists, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think abu Abbas, Al-Salahat, abu Nidal, Ramzi Yousef, and al Zarqawi, were not terrorists in Iraq before Saddam was deposed, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think that it was right for Senator Durbin to compare the treatment of al Qaeda prisoners in Guantanomo prison to the NAZI death camps and the Gulag but it’s wrong to call the terrorists Islamic Fascists, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think the US was wrong to support pro-American regimes that were authoritarian and it’s now wrong for the US to support democratic elections in the Middle East, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think the US government is spying on you with its electronic surveillance, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think the majority of the US media is too far to the Right, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think that smokers are a greater threat to the United States than al Qaeda, you might be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think the President's National Guard service doesn't qualify him to be Commander in Chief but in your mind Bill Clinton was well qualified, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think the US government actually blew up the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on 9/11, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think withdrawing from Iraq and stationing a quick response force in Okinawa is a sound policy for Iraq, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think Sec of Defense Rumsfeld didn’t send enough troops to Iraq but supported cutting 10 divisions from the army during the Clinton years, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
If you think it was right for President Clinton to bomb Serbia and to begin a no-bid long-term contract with Kellogg Brown and Root but wrong for President Bush to remove Saddam and to continue that binding contract with KBR, you may be a patriotic Liberal.
And finally, if you think the government needs to balance Rush Limbaugh and the EIB network, you may be a patriotic Liberal
You may be a liberal patriot if you think Nancy Pelosi would be a good Speaker and Hillary Clinton would be a good President.

You may be a liberal patriot if you still think that Karl Rove leaked Valerie Plame's name to the media and that Joe Wilson was correct when he reported that Saddam was not seeking uranium in Niger.
You think American Christians are more of threat to America than Islamo-facists!
You may be a liberal patriot if your idea of immigration reform reminds the rest of us of amnesty.
You may be a liberal patriot if you think that Al Gore is President of the United States.
You may be a liberal patriot if you think the pre-emptive use of force against a known belligerent tyrant like Saddam Hussein, to confiscate his weapons is morally wrong, but pre-emptive use of force against peaceable American gun owners to confiscate their weapons is morally correct.
If you believe that "peace at any cost" is more important than "freedom at any cost", then you're a patriotic liberal.
If you believe that appeasement of the enemy brings peace, then you're a patriotic liberal.
If you believe that the U.S. is the problem with the world, then you're a patriotic liberal.
I would change "patriotic" to "pathetic".
If you think Islam is the religion of peace and we can negotiate with Hesbollah and Hamas, you may be a pathetic liberal.

You don't need the word patriotic at all. All of these things are believed by your everyday run of the mill liberal.
