Ukraine, Poland and the United Kingdom hold joined military exercises

Zhytomyr region hosts "Cossack Steppe 2006" the Ukraine-Poland-UK military exercise. It is the first time the exercises are held in this region of Ukraine, the Cabinet press office informs.

The exercises are to deal with training a multinational peacekeeping battalion. All the Ukrainian and Polish military participating in the exercise are experienced in Iraqi peacekeeping mission. The British military will join the exercises on September 7.

The exercise is underway within the framework of the Partnership for Peace NATO program.

As Military Attaché of the Polish Embassy in Ukraine Krzysztof Kucharski said, by means of analysis of the previous exercise, the event contributed to a positive experience, which was very useful to the Polish, Ukrainian and British military officers during their missions in Kosovo and Iraq.
