CNN's Candy Crowley blasts Murtha, Dems for having no plans after Bush speech
CNN | September 5, 2006 | nwrep

Posted on 09/05/2006 12:53:09 PM PDT by nwrep

Appearing after Burkha Murtha's comments to the President's WOT speech this afternoon, CNN Political Analyst Candy Crowley was surprisingly sharp in her fair and balanced analysis of the Democratic response to the speech.

When asked by bathroom queen Kyra Phillips for her opinion on the speech and the Dem response, eye Candy said the Dems continue to have the problem of not having any credible response, nor a plan to fight terrorism. She repeated some of Burkha's angry comments, and said it showed that apart from angry rhetoric denouncing the President, the Dems have nothing to offer.

Even the MSM is running out of things for the Dems to say. Murtha watches CNN to see what he should say next. If the MSM does not spoon feed the Dems something to say, they just sit there with that dumb look.

Not really.

While decidely Leftist, the MSM has consistently been more grounded then the Kos kids. That isn't saying much....but it does mean they recognize no plan vs A plan isn't a good election strategy. And Leiberman/Lamont shows that anti-war still doesn't sell well. Whatever the feelings about war, Americans don't want to leave without success and they certainly don't want bloody images of massacres of the Iraqi people if we turn tail and run.

Ah well, I'm a girl so what do I know about such things?

Nothing, as long as your phone number is not 867-5309.

While I'm not going to say she's some kind of closet Republican or get all excited by this, Crowley has been an actual objective journalist more than any MSM reporter I can think of. She's called 'em like she sees 'em on several occassions I've seen. Perhaps it's the frustrated Demo wanting her party to come out swinging, or maybe just objective reporting. But it is refreshing, and its very oddness shows how rarely it's done these days.

Lisa Myers of NBC News fits into that category of being an objective reporter. Brit Hume was doing that schtick for ABC News long before he landed his current role at FOX News.

Good for Crowley, you know the Dems don't have a plan when she criticizes them.

Murtha: Nancy, This is Jack. Did you see W's speech? What should we say?

Nancy P: Hold on, let me turn on the TV. Well...uhmmm. Let me call Howard and Harry. I'll call you back.

Later....

Nancy P: Jack, Nancy here. Ok, Harry Reid is going to call CNN. Watch the news. He knows what to say next.

Murtha: Thanks, Nancy. That was a close one. We almost got caught not having a plan.

well, I agree with your point about "wanting success". but americans never saw the images of what happened to southeast asia after we left vietnam, and wouldn't see it if the Dems were to regain control and leave iraq.

Agreed - likewise with gasoline prices falling - and predicted to continue to do so, and unemployment at 4.7% I don't see the "dems" seizing control of either the House or the Senate

Or the news today that Chevron found a big pool of oil in the Gulf of Mexico today, capable of producing 15 billion barrels a day.

You think they could bury those images in this media age?

I know they've buried news before, but I'm not quite convinced they could conceal a slaughter of the projected magnitude if we left them defenceless.

IMO, the images would still get out. They'd simply find a way to blame Bush for it, like they did Katrina. Nevermind Miss, Alabama and Texas never had the difficulty LA encountered. The state overrun by Dems in political office.

It does promise to be interesting. Particularly in Houston with Lampson. The only bright side to him is he has left a bad taste in the mouths of many by running to the courts the way he did. That and his district (which I live in) I greatly doubt will reelect him if he wins. 55 to 45 percent republican.
