He didn't say that in his post #17, except whining and moaning like a democRATic "cry-baby!

Post #17:
Man, are you wrong. She has zero chance of beating Nelson. The Republican party told her she had no chance. She is a bull-headed spoiled brat. Believe me, it is a family trait. I will vote for her, but her career deserves to be OVER after this race. She can go stand next to Dan Quayle. She is a net negative for the party. She has no talent. She has trouble with accepting bad news. And she doesn't appear to be able to tell truth from fantasy. Yuck!

As for NJ, we do have a spirited conservative grassroots movement, which was largely responsible for getting Bret Schundler nominated in 2001. In fact, many are so "spirited" that many of them refuse to vote when their guy doesn't win the primary. This year, for example, when we have our best chance ever at taking a Senate seat, many are sitting on their hands and refusing to support Kean and letting that commie Menendez stroll back into office.

But that's not really relevant here. The problem with Katherine Harris has nothing to do with her politics, it's her personality. Having a reputaion for throwing fits and not being able to work with people, appearing on TV sticking her chest out, making statements that imply all non-Christians are sinners, etc. These are what turn the voters off and what make her unelectable. She might be able to get the base out, but she attracts virtually no moderate or indepenent support.

For that matter, even much of the base (especially the less socially conservative parts) aren't particularly fond of her either. Also, if she somehow gets elected, she could end up just being an albatross for the GOP, and it may be better for us in the long run if she loses.

All your rantings are nothing but a loser's mentality, or should we call it envy, also???

So its going to be my fault if she loses? Envy? I am not a politician. I like her. I always have. She should have stepped aside. What good does it do to win a nomination if you can't get elected? Do you think she is going to win?

I'm glad you are voting for Harris. While she may have some problems she doesn't deserve the "Yuck" you've posted.

Now if you compare her principles against Nelson:He's a

1.photo-whore that picks up an liberal agenda to get in the news. See him on the Canaveral shuttle blast off last month?
2. anti-gun
3. pro-amnesty for illegals
4. pro-abortion; anti-late term abortion prohibition
5. pro-Al Qaeda bill of rights
6. pro-UN
7. pro-McCain-Feingold
8. silent on Kelo decision
9. silent on Terri Schiavo's right to life
10. Pro-after school funding 11.anti-conservative candidates for Supreme Court

So Harris looks awfully good compared to that track record.

Go Katherine!

How does anyone know how many Republicans will vote or how they will vote? How can anyone predict elections based on polls anymore? I do not answer political phone calls from either party nor do I click yes or no to any poll on the Internet. The questions are framed to provide the desired outcome of those who paid for the poll. Many of us are tired of being bothered on the phone period.

And the other Republican Party candidates who were - apparently - too incompetant to beat Katherine Harris in the primaries had watch chance, exactly, of beating Nelson?

The problem was, and this is what the Party was saying, is she could beat other Republican candidates for the nomination, but she could not beat Nelson. Her negatives are very high.

Good Republican candidates would not run against Harris, because they could very well lose. But if she had stepped aside, then a good quality candidate could have emerged that would have had a good chance of beating a weak Nelson. We could have had a good shot at picking up a Senate seat and that would have all but guarranteed the Senate would remain Republican. Now, there is no chance. Harris couldn't raise money, so she used her Dad's. It is not so much that the Party wants her to do bad, as it is that we just can't afford to spend any resources on someone who can't win.

The real problem is that Harris, like Hillary Clinton, is a known quantity in the public's eye. You can't redefine her. So the polls mean a lot more than they would if someone were being introduced. This is not about loyalty. It is politics 101.

Do you think she is going to win?

NO, I don't think it, I KNOW her well enough that she as usually WILL win!

She has the same mind and attitudes as our Miami Heat that, likewise her, was rediculed by the "drive-by" media before they surpriced everyone with a NBA championship!!

Like Ms. Kathrine Harris, Pat Riley and all his players believed in themselves. I think we can throw in our Florida Marlins in that same mix. Kathrine Harris is NOT a loser!!!

Anyone who saw the debate he had with Benson [sic]would come away knowing he was out of his league. But heck, he was like 39 or 40 years old.

I saw it and didn't think he was out of his league. Bentsen made his famous "You're no JFK" retort, but I thought he more than held his own. He was knowledgeable and articulate [more than either Bush]. It certainly didn't hurt the ticket as Bush won big with 53.4% of the popular vote and a staggering 79% of the electoral vote.

I had never even heard of him when Bush selected him, and I followed politics closely.

I must have followed politices closer than you. I knew he was a senator from Indiana.

The Holocaust was an obscene period in our nation's history. I mean in this century's history. But we all lived in this century. I didn't live in this century.

Gimme a break. Every politican comes up with these kinds of misstatements and mistakes. Letterman runs GWB's mistakes almost nightly.

Mars is essentially in the same orbit... Mars is somewhat the same distance from the Sun, which is very important. We have seen pictures where there are canals, we believe, and water. If there is water, that means there is oxygen. If oxygen, that means we can breathe.

There is some truth to that statement, but I don't find such verbal gaffes all that significant or important. The MSM can use them to ridicule their "enemies" who are usually Reps. It does not prove him to be a lightweight. You misspelled Bentsen's name, but I don't think you are dumb or uneducated.

I attribute the dozens (hundreds?) of these things he said not to stupidity, but to panic. He always got a deer-in-the-headlight look when it was something important. Harris is a lightweight too.

I don't know how much public speaking you have done, but I have done more than average number of presentations to large groups. No one is perfect. You can make some stumbles or mistakes. Fortunately, I didn't have the MSM covering my public appearances and capturing every misstatement on video and tape for a gotcha moment.

No problem - - if you are so sensitive, don't vote at all !

America is a Christian Country (not a Christian State), why cannot people of your persuasion get that fact thru your heads .

My 80+ year old mother in Palm Beach County voted FOR Harris to thank her for how she handled the 2000 FL election. She takes the Palm Beach Post with her to vote against all their stupid endorsements.

Despite the media smear campaign, when mother listened and learned to Kathleen Harris thoughts, she was impressed.

Florida needs Kathleen Harris as a US SENATOR.
