Not on national TV speaking directly to the American people! Yes, he has been giving speeches at various venues, you can't really think that the sheeple are actually listening to the 30 second sound bites on the 6 o'clock news do you? No need to be condescending.

Over the past 5 years we've waged an unprecedented campaign here and abroad and it's succeeded in protectin gthe homeland. We have seen the enemy strike (lists the countries - huge list).
They haven't given up on their plans to strike our nation. Just last month British police with our help and other allies helped break up a terrorist cell in London.
Americans look at these events and ask: Are we safer. The answer is yes. America is safer.

Not on national TV speaking directly to the American people!You're simply mistaken about that. He has been talking about this on TV, during the daytime particularly, endlessly about this--definitely on a weekly basis. That you are seeing one speech in particular doesn't mean there haven't been many more. With C-SPAN available, the only reason the "people" may not have seen him is because they don't care to; those same people aren't listening to him now, either.
