The President has been 'out there' for months doing campaign appearances for candidates all over the country.
He has spoken about the War on Terror in individual communities at least twice a week.
This effort has nothing to do with avoiding impeachment. Nothing.

Open message to Tony Snow:
If you are the one responsible for getting Dubya in front of the camera more, keep it up.
When people see Bush, they like him.
When the media paints Bush for them, they don't.
PS. Kick that Gregory creep in the groin for me. Please.

I for one am glad W is doing this. He really needs to bust out the hammer and drive home that this is a REAL war.
I talk about these issues with my youth group ( http://www.myspace.com/gtsyouth ). You'd be surprised how much they are behind the President on this.
This issue hits close-to-home for us. We have had two members graduate, enter the Army, and get stationed in Iraq and Afganistan.
We have had a third just enter the Army. He knows full-well what might happen to him, but HE WILLINGLY JOINED.

Seems so strange....at the same time our President is giving speeches about the war on terror.....our universities are laying out the red carpet for said terrorists.

btw, no previous President has ever invested so much of himself in getting and keeping Republican majorities.
Just to set the record straight.....

Either there is something to report, or Bush just realized he gave a lot of ammo to the other side by admitting there ARE secret CIA prisons. No matter what the rest of the speech said yesterday, that is the message that is being bantered about.Exactly--but only the dems and MSM think it's a BAD thing.
Bush admitted that he is using all of our assets to fight this war, and the Dems cackle "How DARE you hurt terrorists!" and think the public feels the same way.
They don't get it. The public may not care much for Bush, but they sure aren't telling him "You know, go a little easier on these terrorists." Even the dems with their whining about not paying attention to terrorists because of the "distraction" of Iraq are faced with Bush basically saying "OK--LOOK at what I'm doing to the terrorists--wanna fight me over it?"
Brilliant, BRILLIANT move.

Fox is.
If they don't run over the beginning of the speech with their 'commentary' it would be refreshing....

This is shaping up to be the "live thread".
Maybe we should tell the Moderator to augment the title......
