Margaret Sanger, the founder of the organization that today is Planned Parenthood, began her crusade for abortion on the theme of eugenics. Her journal, The Birth Control Review, is filled with articles advocating the elimination of the “unfit,” including those with mental and physical disabilities, to produce a superior race of human geniuses. Her slogan, “Birth Control: To Create a Race of Thoroughbreds,” appealed to the type of racist thinking that gave rise to Hitler’s propaganda and the resultant “racial purification” violence of the concentration camps. Her writings are filled with a mix of the popular ideas of her day, drawn from early sexual psychology and Darwinism. She advocated that women separate sex from childbearing so as to preserve the “right” to have an abortion when childbearing does not suit their economic or psychological needs. Her views were extreme to the point where almost any reason expressed by a woman justifies abortion, even when the need is simply inconvenience. Sanger’s writings strongly attack Christianity, often expressing a vehement anti-Catholicism. She wanted sexual freedom to replace religion. She intended the combination of birth control and abortion to produce more children from the “fit” and fewer children from the “unfit.”

I think birth control, particularly the pill, has had just a tiny effect. I know that birth control, not abortion, is the reason my wife and I didn't have more.
I think that's a much more accurate assessment. My husband and I contracepted faithfully, we didn't limit family size by abortion.
Hitler and his crew greatly admired Sanger's views on eugenics, race, reproducing a "superior race" and keeping "inferior races/peoples" from reproducing. The early Nazi "euthanasia" and "voluntary" sterilization programs pretty much matched things Sanger advocated.

Hitler apparently was also impressed by the programs some states, including, unfortunately, Virginia, ran starting in the 1920s (and even up into the 1960s) that involuntarily sterilized not only retarded people but also teenagers who simply caused trouble. Here's a blurb from this date in history:

Bell), the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a Virginia statute allowing sexual sterilization of institutionalized individuals suffering from "hereditary forms of insanity that are recurrent, idiocy, imbecility, feeble-mindedness, or epilepsy." Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes stated, "Three generations of imbeciles are enough." As it turned out, Buck had not actually been mentally ill - her family had institutionalized her in order to hide the fact that a relative had raped her, resulting in a pregnancy. It was the birth of this child which caused Virginia authorities to sterilize Buck in order to ensure that she would not have any more, but in time the child turned out to have above-average intelligence.
Eventually, more than 60,000 Americans were sterilized.

Not just genocide in general, but genocide of the radical left. The abortionists are quite literally cannibalizing their own and to a certain extent are sowing the seeds of their own destruction.
A lot of the reason why I think we will eventually see an end to infanticide in America has little to do with electoral politics. It has a lot to do with the abortionists killing themselves off over time. Children have a strong tendency to reflect the underlying morals and values of their parents. The abortionists best chance to perpetuate their "morals and values" over the long term is to pass it along to their own children. That doesn't work real well, though, if all the children they *would* have had have are aborted or contracepted.
When Colorado gubinatorial candidate Bob Beauprez
brought this up the Dems cried "Racist!!"
Sadly, rather than carry out the debate, he apologized!
