Now let me get this straight....wasn't a guy named Bill Clinton the president when that happened?

Al-Qaeda grew while Monica blew.

Tried to beat the clock on this computer access here in a library...
I was trying to show that while President clinton was in office, bin Laden was clearly to the State Department a known terrorist criminal responsible for the embassy bombings in Africa. Note the State Department "world-wide alert:In March 1998, the Department of State issued a world-wide alert drawing attention to an Usama bin Laden threat against American military and civilians. However, this alert was not accompanied by any special warning or analysis that embassies in East Africa might be targeted by Bin Laden's group."

so why the excuse "We didn't have anything to prosecute him on...so I begged the Saudis... (paraphrasing).

I found this where the state Department's 1998 alert may
be confirmed. Still checking on this.
