You are correct.Where the heads of the news department finds these'reporters'is beyond me.I wonder sometimes, and worry,is that the best out there? Our local newpersons do a better job,and that's not saying much.I have relegated my news sources to the ones I find on the internet.I came across FR about four years ago,and did not post until recently,as I am an admitted computer dummy.Someone called me out on one of my posts,as I had no forum page.It took a while but I figured it out. This forum I find very informative. Many on here are some smart cookies.I have asked a few questions that were important to me,and was given the right answers. You do not come across to me as a PC type of person. They make me ill. Thanks for your responce.xarmydog

"Over the years,I have witnessed some extremely lapses in judgment, from his live broadcasts of troop movements to the Al Capone'caper."

My FAVORITE Geraldo "report", was durring one of the hurricanes he was sent to cover.(I wish I could remember which one, so I could look up a possible "link".)

Geraldo was doing a live report, standing on the bank of what appeared to be the "mouth" of a river or canal, which led to the Gulf. The wind was REALLY blowing, with almost horizontal rain.

Geraldo was talking back and forth with the Fox anchor back in NYC, when Geraldo turned around to point out some of the boats being tossed around. He pointed to a sailboat that was stuck in the middle of the channel, sails closed, and then started getting all excited about this boat, and even though it was at least what appeared to be 200 feet from his position and hard to see because of the driving rain, the next of what seemed to be 30 minutes, was Geraldo describing the almost certain demise of this boat, and it's captain (and possibly it's crew) trying to make it into a safer upper part of the channel.

Geraldo paced FRANTICALLY up and down the bank, describing how the "captain of the boat" was making ALL the WRONG MOVES to get to safety. He was almost screaming, in very impressive nautical terms what the captain of the boat must do to survive at a volume loud enough for the captain of the poor boat to hear.

With EVERY move of the boat, Geraldo's verbal nautical expertice became more and more dramatic, not unlike the FOX coverage of an LA Freeway car chase( or ANY Shep "live" report).

The boat would get turned around and around from the hurricane force winds, as Geraldo's nautical commands, much to his ever increasing disbelief and dismay, seemed to go totally unheeded.

When the winds subsided enough, about 30 minutes after the beginning of Geraldo's coverage of the tragic boat and it's captain, the camera guy with Geraldo was FINALLY able to get a closer zoomed in shot of the sailboat.

The camera zoomed in on the anchor line,(which was NOW able to be seen) going from the boat into the water, where the "captain" of the boat had placed it before ABANDONING it, probably thinking it was safer in the center of the channel, than crashing into the other boats Geraldo had reported on minutes earlier, that were extremely damaged from banging into each other on the opposite shore.

The look on Geraldo's face was PRICELESS, and the anchor back at the FOX desk deserved an Acadamy Award for ending the segment with a straight face, while containing what was probably the most uncontrolable laughter they had ever had in their life.

"On tonight's edition of The OReilly Factor on the FNC, Rivera stated that he believed the "kamikaze" style attacks took "courage" to carry out."

If such an attack were on maybe a military base who was about to launch some form of strike on their homeland then OK it was courage, killing 3k helpless Civilians is about as cowardly as one can get.

AGAIN....it was courageous in the literal sense. Dying for what you believe in is courageous. I don't understand the argument. OF COURSE their insane, OF COURSE, their mission is wrong, by our standards....but solely on a personal level, it's courageous.

"In your view, are the Palestinian women and kids who blow themselves up in malls, buses, etc., bold?"

Why would you even imply that I would think that? You must have me confused with someone else.
