Second time's a charm?

George Voinovich's change of heart gives U.N. Ambassador John Bolton another shot at confirmation.

This was an important moment, maybe not historic but surely unusual. Voinovich had been the catalyst for the defeat of Bolton's nomination to the U.N. post in 2005. Without his unflinching opposition, Bolton most likely would have been confirmed.

Surprisingly last week, Bolton's vote was indefinitely postponed. We don't know when it will occur, but if it doesn't happen before the November elections, if the elections go badly for Republicans, Bolton might never get his vote.

Thanks to another RINO Chaffee. It would be worth the loss of a Republican Senate seat to get rid of him. It takes a lot for me to say that, but this cowardly move of his to postpone the vote on the best and most effective (IMO) UN Representative the US has ever had is the last straw for me. Chaffee is an idiot whose positions do not show any consistency or coherence at all. If Bolton does not get his vote, I think all Freepers should bombard Congress with calls and emails until he does. I would think that he is pretty popular with average Americans and a Democrat filibuster of his up or down vote would not play too well during an election season.

We gotta be careful what we wish for, and wishing for the defeat of even a crazy Chaffee could be deadly........ and not only to Bolton at the UN. Even Hagel has his worthwhile moments as Barnes writes here: "One undecided senator, Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, called Bolton last week, chatted for 20 minutes, and promised his vote."

We got some real snakes on our own side to deal with, like Hagel, Graham, and McCain. We've got our dumber than dirt senators too, like the twin twits from Maine! But I'd take any of them over someone with a "D" in front of their name.

I'm with you.

My answer to everyone is: THINK JUDICIARY, THINK JUDICIARY, THINK JUDICIARY.

Only our GOP majority is going to get us any more Roberts' and Alitos' in the next two years - all else is second place in importance in my book.
