Bill would name new federal courthouse for the late Rush Limbaugh

*** NO - our Lovable Little Fuzzball is not dead!!! ***

.............

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - A new federal courthouse would bear one of the most famous names in southeast Missouri - and the nation - under legislation offered by Sens. Kit Bond and Jim Talent.

Decades before his namesake grandson achieved prominence as a conservative commentator, Rush H. Limbaugh was practicing law and amassing a long record of civic service to Cape Girardeau and the state. He died in 1996 at age 104, after practicing law for nearly 80 years.

He was widely called Rush H. Limbaugh Sr., to distinguish him from his son - the late Rush H. Limbaugh Jr., who shared the law practice - and his grandson Rush H. Limbaugh III, the radio host.

This month, Bond and Talent introduced a Senate bill designating Cape Girardeau's new courthouse as the Rush H. Limbaugh Sr. Federal Courthouse. The $50 million building is expected to open next year.

Rep. Jo Ann Emerson, R-Mo., said discussions about a name began about the same time construction started in 2004, and Limbaugh was the most fitting symbol of both the legal profession and dedication to community service.

"It was kind of a no-brainer," said Emerson, who plans to introduce the same bill in the House. "He was just a perfect person."

Limbaugh's son, U.S. District Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh Sr., said he was humbled and surprised by the news.

"It's not very often that our family is speechless, and I'm pretty close," said the judge, whose son - Stephen N. Limbaugh Jr. - serves on the Missouri Supreme Court.

A spokeswoman for Bond said the bill will probably clear a Senate committee within the next several days.

Emerson foresees no difficulties gaining approval in both houses of Congress.

"We're not talking about controversial legislation," she said.

I love that they are naming this court house after Rush's grandfather--however, NO court house should cost the taxpayers 50 million IMHO.

I know it's not our Rush, but since the subject has come up, I'm kinda scared:

Rush is what...? 55...? And he's fat as hell, again.

Hey, that's fine, but let's not kid ourselves; him and the internet are basically carrying conservativism wholesale.

Obeisity shortens a person's life, often quite substantially.

When Rush goes, I'd say that's like Hiroshima and Nagasaki, all rolled into one.

That's one small thing about Marta I did like --I knew that as long as he ate HER way, he would live a very long, annoying (to liberaldom) time.

The "late" Rush Limbaugh had me squirming, too. LOL Didn't know OUR Rush was a "III," though.

it might be the ONLY $50 mill Courthouse that is worth the money.. Of course - it would be pretty damn funny - If El-Rushbo were to actually pay the $50 mill and also be in charge of the design of the building. Probably get a hell of a Courthouse if Maja-Rushy was in charge of the building process.

Well, Emerson may not, but I do. The moonbats won't care that this is Rush's grandfather. The name will send them into hysterics, and they will demand that the Rats block the bill for naming the courthouse. I would bet cash money on it.

Me too. Or else the Sr. would have to be in a font size twice that of the rest of the name.

I do not know all that Rush's father did. But, he did write a piece on th Declaration of Independence. It chronicles the price that the signers paid. Many lost their fortunes lives and families. For all that Rush is his father may have been even more of a patriot.

It would be nice if Rush could have a reading of his fathers writing on July 4th of next year.

Rush is very fit, my friend, you obviously have not seen Rush in a long time. I also do not like your attitude- why bring up Marta and explain "he would live a very long, annoying (to liberldom) time" please... just asking.

First, I don't think you understood the motives behind my post.

Secondly, what bodyfat percentage do you consider healthy for an adult male?

Before you peg me as some kind of food nazy, I want you to answer that.

It's a typo.

The question stands --what bodyfat % do you THINK is healthy?
