The spark of his current affair ended when he made initial contact. The initial charge he felt was just a static attraction.

Third world likes 220 volts, it's cheaper to wire requiring a smaller gauge. But, just pressing your fingers against the face plate of an outlet (typically two holes smaller than 1/8" with the contacts well behind) is going to do nothing.

Like Steve Irwin, he thought he was invulnerable.

Did he tell you that?

OK I'll explain it. Irwin was filming a docunentary on deadly predatory ocean mammals. He was swimming close to a stingray without any precautions. I would think he felt confident enough based on his past experience that he didn't need to.

Tay probbaly felt he could fix the generator with power on based on his past experience with electricity.

That is, they were both over-confident, and it cost them their lives.

The stingray is not a deadly predatory animal. Stingray attacks on humans are rare in the first place, much less deadly.

Anyone who would think to work on a hi-voltage transformer WITHOUT FIRST cutting the power to it has truly earned the consequence of their actions.

Hello?

It is not the volts that will kill you, it is the amperage. Also if the current path goes close to or through your heart or between the head and torso it can screw up the vagus nerve and cause an arrhythmia. Current going across your hand or arm is less dangerous but can cause 3rd degree burns if the current is high.
