"50% is "full approval" for Bush."

So how did that 92% approval come about shortly after 9/11/2001?

Do you work for the MSM? You selectively quote just like them! =)

Thus, like 4.7% unemployment is "FULL EMPLOYMENT," since 2004, 50% is "full approval" for Bush.

I specifically excluded the post-911 period because it changed everything and scared the anti-Bush people into temporary reality. Post-Kerry moonbats are different.

You have to know what his executorial duties are in order to approve of disapprove of his performance don't you?

We'd like to think so. But that's not true for pulling a lever at the voting booth, so why should it be true for a poll?

I think you missed my point. I wasn't trying to pick a fight with you.

By the way I am an economist and retired investment advisor. The 95% emloyment is considered "full" so that there is a "pool" of workers to fill inevitable vacancies. If we had 100% employment, every day businesses would have important slots with no one to fill them.

The 50% being full performance approval doesn't compare. Ronald Reagan consistently had more 50% approval for one, approval and party affiliation don't necessarily go hand in hand.

Not withstanding what I just typed; my point was and is that the people these pollsters ask and the what and how it is asked makes the results irrelevant.

You are free to think they are of course. But when President Bush had 90% approval, was he doing a better job than he is now...I think not.

The President hasn’t enjoyed a 45% approval rating since a couple of days in July. His ratings haven’t been higher than 45% since February 22, 2006. Since this is just the second day of a bounce, it remains to be seen whether this reflects lasting change or is nothing more than statistical noise.

Every two years (while Bush is in office). President's poll numbers go down in the spring so the Democrats can get all uppity and arrogant and thinking they have a lock on the November elections and then

POW!!!!!!!

The numbers come rushing back in the fall to give Republicans momentum going into the November elections.

He's 3 for 3 and the Democrats haven't figured it out yet.

I bet he's gonna give whoever we nominate in 2008 one helluva wave to ride into the White House.

Shalom.

I don't think anyone really "enjoys" a 45% approval rating. ;)

LOL....the dems are besides themselves. Trouble is they will get more and more vile before election day. Dragging this country into their sewer. Pity.

Poor PJ-Comix is going to be exhausted before this month is over!

I wasn't trying to pick a fight with you.

I have not yet begun to fight! =)

By the way I am an economist and retired investment advisor.

I don't hold that against you!

The 95% emloyment is.....

I know...

The 50% being full performance approval doesn't compare.

Well pick another analogy that suits you. 95% is a ceiling. 50% is Bush's 2nd term ceiling.

...the what and how it is asked makes the results irrelevant.

I violently agree with you, silly! Unfortunately, by that same logic, there's an irrational skew in the presidential elections from idiots voting that makes that decision "irrelevant" too.

But when President Bush had 90% approval, was he doing a better job than he is now...I think not.

My point is that aside from the agreed meaningless numbers....the reason Bush has lost political power lately is because of his OWN base leaving him....NOT because there's suddenly been an increase in Kerry voters finally seeing the light. Measure that in polls, fundraising, congressional votes. However you want to gauge it. Conservatives have been realizing that the WOT is more important than their little pet peeves and Bush's political power has increased a little.

Reagan created consensus with "reagan democrats" in de facto peacetime. Bush is incapable of such a feat in this climate, because Kerry wingnuts are frozen to their positions. Even with another 9/11, Bush will be threatened with impeachment for letting it happen. USA will never unite behind him again like 9/12, I'm afraid.

I'd like to see any democrat in congress pull off high approval ratings after weeks/months of intense pounding in the MSM and by the demoncRats in Washington.

As others have pointed out, it's election season, which means people are starting to pay attention. It's always easy to say "Ah, he's a bum!" about any politician, but Republicans, for all their flaws, have a secret weapon, guaranteed to draw votes, and ultimately keep Congress Republican:

The Democrats

Nightly? Flash polls? Who are they polling? Do they vote? Are they Democrats? Republicans? Independents? One polling company was fined not too long ago because of they lied and made up numbers.

I was responding to your assertion that this was an internet poll. It isn't. If you want to take issue with the methodology, I suggest you read the article and discover what it was. Then you can intelligently either support it or dispute it.

I think President Bush would be in the 90's if he cracked down on illegal immigration.
