.....as if we were the important people there..... Come now. Your conscientious dedication to the voluntary mission for week after week makes you important. You were holding important ground against a disgusting foe.

Those were Mr. Trooprally's words. I think I speak for him and all of us when I say that we appreciate your thoughts, but really, the heroism of the troops is beyond compare; especially when we see the wounded move from flat on their backs to wheelchair to cane to walking unassisted, often on prosthetic limbs, in a matter of months. They are awesome.

It was great having you visit and FReep with us this spring, Bert, and I enjoy reading about your FReeping down in South Carolina. Keep up the good work!

Two officers in full camo uniforms... Much as some of the lady FReepers might like it, they are not allowed to wear partial uniforms. :)

Those actually the (relatively) new ACUs Army Combat Uniforms. After a brief period of everyone wearing the same camo BDUs, the services are all getting their own individual patterns once more.

Thanks for the update on that, Gato! It's been many, many years since I washed, starched and ironed my husband's 7 pairs of fatigues per week.
