Contact McCain, Warner, and the South Carolina Dweeb
The Orator ^ | 15 Sep 06 | El Hombre Libre

Posted on 09/15/2006 12:49:20 PM PDT by elhombrelibre

We need to call McCain, Warner, and the Dweeb and let them know that they're being far too solictous of the feelings of terrorists, their sympathizers, and those who aid and abett them. This is a war for the fate of the US and for civilization as a whole. Under these circumstances, does it really matter if we hurt the feelings of terrorists or make their lives unpleasant? We can shoot spies out of uniform, but the three Liberal RINO Senators would have us believe that their efforts do not play into the hands of the enemies' propagandists - both al Qaeda and the New York Times.

This is a vanity post, but I think it's one people need to act upon. We cannot give Miranda warnings to terrorists, or allow them to use their lawyers to communicate terror plots, or allow terrorists to feel safe in the knowledge that no discomfort will come to them because they're protected by John McCain's pro-terrorists legislation. WE need to get mad at those who imply that our treatment so far is torture because that is a lie. Please let McCain, Warner and the Dweeb know that Americans want terrorists treated like terrorists and not possibly innocent Americans under suspicion of committing a crime. As we fight back against terrorists in Iraq and in Afghanistan, innocent people die. We cannot help that, but we try to minimize it. If innocent people must die as we defend ourselves, how is it that the terrorists who brought this war on are now so deserving of kid glove treatmen?

McCain has first hand knowledge that our adherence to the Geneva Conventions during the Vietnam war gave the North Vietnamese quid pro quo to treat him humanely.

Oh....wait....

Good luck. Been trying to call all day. Busy, hung up on, disconnected upon reaching the office. They do not want to hear from REAL AMERICANS.

You know that's the irony, isn't it? He of all people knows the difference between torture and between treating people in an unpleasant way. But out of personal vanity and political opportunism he has chosen to undermine our the President and to muddy the waters for our interrogators about what is legal and what is not legal as they try to breakdown the secrets of al Qaeda. He would have us treat al Qaeda who never wear a uniform, respect no laws, and reserve the right to kill innocent civilians, as if they're soldiers from Sweden. Shame on him. So if we have the choice between letting al Qaeda plot a nuclear attack on us or breaking their secret with corrosive methods, the Senator would prefer the sophistries that the Left say makes us the same. This is moral equivalence gone mad! The Senator is carrying water for those on the Left who hate America and Bush.

I got through to all of their offices. Call their local ones too. They're on the link. You can leave messages for the ones who have gone home. The Republican base needs to speak out on this. These three who want to side with the terrorist coddlers need to know the real Republicans in the party base will never forget this.

Warner's office phones have been totally slammed for the last two days, nobody I know of getting through. They must be getting a tidal wave of abuse, which is what they deserve.

The Dweeb is one of the most odious politicians in public life today. He was one of the main apologists for the Senate illegal immigrant amnesty bill. The people of South Carolina should be hanging their heads in shame.

I got through. I guess it's a matter of timing. Call the local office.

I've been trying to call McCain, Graham, Warner and Collins and haven't been able to get through to any of them except Collins' office. I will continue to try though.

I called Collins' office and was polite but told her staffer that I was very upset with Senator Collins for her stance on terrorist surveillance/interrogations. I also told him that after hearing the President today that I hope she will reconsider because this program is too vital and we cannot afford for it to be dropped because of four misguided senators.

He thanked me for calling and I asked if many people had called and he said, "not that many." I asked him if most people agreed with me and he said it was about 50/50.

Let's change the ratio!
Call Senator Collins: (202) 224-2523

Just can`t figure what in the h@ll McNevervoteforhim is thinking? If the goal is to gain the moderate vote, what ever that is, he`s picked the wrong issue. There is no moderate position in this fight.

Don't forget to give Senator Collins a call too! Freeper "demkicker" posted on another thread:

I'm very surprised that the many patriotic people in South Carolina are allowing Graham to cause this obnoxious obfuscation about how to treat terrorists. Are they asleep in South Carolina?

They're kidding themselves if they think that most Republicans are with them. These terrorists, who kill innocents, especially Americans when they can, are not victims of torture or in any other way victims. This is insane. And their is no linkage in how our enemies will treat our servicemen and women when or if they're captured. That's ludicrous. This is the claptrap of the New York Times and the three Senators are rubes for preferring to curry favor with the NYT to supporting the President.

Just got off the phone with Graham's office. I complained to his staffer and asked if he'd gotten lots of calls (knowing he has because I haven't been able to get through all day). She told me they had gotten, "quite a few and that they were a good mix, with many supporting the Senator."

I was too polite to call her a liar, but that just goes to show that he needs to be BOMBARDED WITH CALLS!

Call Graham's office!: (202) 224-5972
