Pope statement not enough: Muslim Brotherhood

CAIRO (Reuters) - Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood said a Vatican statement on Saturday saying Pope Benedict was sorry for upsetting Muslims with his comments on Islam did not go far enough.

"We want a personal apology (from the Pope). We feel that he has committed a grave error against us and that this mistake will only be removed through a personal apology," Muslim Brotherhood Deputy Leader Mohammed Habib told Reuters.

"Has he presented a personal apology for statements by which he clearly is convinced? No," he said.

In a speech on Tuesday the Pope repeated criticism of the Prophet Mohammad by the 14th century Byzantine Emperor Manuel II Palaeologus, who said everything the Prophet brought was evil "such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached."

The remarks sparked outrage across the Islamic world.

"The Holy Father is very sorry that some passages of his speech may have sounded offensive to the sensibilities of Muslim believers," Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone said in the statement.

The Muslim Brotherhood is a political Islamist group founded in Egypt which has inspired movements across the Arab world.

heard a newscast this morning.......said that the pope insulted the muslim world by citing something written hundreds of years ago that said the muslim religion is evil and violent. it said further, that some muslims (forgot where) were so outraged, that they fire-bombed a couple of christian churches.

Muslim Bro:

We demand an apology for all the terror attacks and bombings and tortures and kidnappings and beheadings and mass graves and the mistreatment and butchering of women....

We don't care about words. Sticks and stones break bones, words don't.

"We want a personal apology" = justification for continued violence.

I've yet to hear the muzzies say sorry...for anything.

That's because they see every non-Muslim as an infidel. They still think its the 14th century.

Here's my apology to islam:

"I'm sorry that islam is a murderous cult of uncivilized, subhuman scumbags...and I'm really sorry that we will have to kill all muslims to have any hope for world peace."

The Pope really didn't say enough. He should have said that Mohammed was a false prophet ... and if there is a liar's prize in hell, Mohammed will get it.

In regard to your list of Muslim violence, I'd also place the assassination of Gandhi - even though it was by a Hindu extremist, I'd argue it brought on by Gandhi's perceived weakness in dealing with the Kashmir/Pakistan problem.

You could arguably interpret many things this way, rightly or wrongly, but thought I'd just throw this one out there as food for thought.

Thank you for clarification. I can only hope that people are finally starting to see the true color of islam and what it's about.

I suggest every American get down to the range and make sure your good at over 150 yds. The problem won't go away till it's dead. It's just a matter of time before TROP thinks it can take us. We need to kill the medusa before it's too late.
