There is a Wal-Mart Supercenter around 15 miles from us. The prices are so much lower than the local grocery stores and a wider variety! Their produce and meat departments are excellent too. The folks who work there are friendly and very helpful.Just my experience, of course. I refuse to buy at Target any more than necessary. Their lack of community values and higher prices irk me. :)

I manage to do coupons and specials and rob the local grocery store every week, so traveling to the nearest Wal-Mart for groceries isn't something I do...but in my experience, grocery stores in inner cities are way over-priced and if people can travel to a Wal-Mart and find lower prices, good for them.

Around here, the lowest prices for food are found at WinCo. Prices are about 25% cheaper than WM. WinCo is 100% employee owned. The best prices for drugs and general sundries are offered by Bi-Mart (another employee owned store). CostCo and WM are about the same price. Target stores in Oregon are much cleaner and offer a better shopping experience than WM.
