WHO-TV September 7th, 2006--A report released by the Polk County Medical Examiner says that 18-year-old Matthew Stegman died from multiple stab wounds. He also suffered blunt force trauma to the head, arms, and chest. Now police say his murder may be tied to some sort of devil worship. Des Moines Police Sergeant Todd Dykstra said, "What investigators believe or know is that some type of ritual was performed prior to the homicide." That ritual was possibly performed by the five people police arrested and charged with first degree murder. All five were arrested at the same Des Moines apartment building earlier this week. Police wouldn't disclose if it waswhat they found or what suspects told them that lead them to believe this homicide could be tied to satanic worship. They also would not elaborate on the details of the ritual. Police did say the five people in custody planned to lure Stegman to the cemetery. Friends of Matt Stegman said they knew the five alleged killers and they said they even heard some of them talk about devil worship in the past. But they said Stegman, however, was not involved in any of that.

Very true, I know quite a few wiccans and they are vegans, they don't even want to kill animals for food.
The difference is, when Christians murder, it is in opposition to their faith. When Satanists perform death rituals, it is in furtherance of their "beliefs". Simple.
Wiccans are NOT the same as satanists, or any other sort of 'devil worshipers'. Most don't even believe that Satan exists.
Now, I'll admit that a lot of satanists have studied wicca, and have adopted and perverted some wiccan rituals, but that is about the only connection.
I've known hundreds of practicing wiccans, and the vast majority of them are kinder and gentler than the average agnostics and atheists and even a significant percent of people who call themselves 'Christians' (but aren't really) that I have known.
Wiccans may be a little odd, and misguided ("The Devil's greatest accomplishment was convincing the world he didn't exist.") ; but they (as a whole) are hardly evil.
title: Police Say Rituals Preceded Cemetery Murder.
Yeah. It's so far off from the actual title *LOL*
We all need to take the PC Brainwashing and ram it down the garbage disposal. We need to judge people by their actions, and the heck with feeling good attitudes.
Time for America to awake and become a giant to be feared again.
I am Christian so I do not follow Wiccan beliefs. However Wiccans do not believe in Satan who they claim is a personification of evil invented by the Jewish and Christian religions. There is not an official Wiccan Catechism or an official coven registration site so there may be a great deal of variety in worship beliefs and practices. However for the most part Wiccans worship the goddess (different ones) and her consort the horned god. Their religion is nature based seeing the whole creation has having divinity. They are often very careful to distance themselves from Satanists. Most also follow the rule of three that says whatever you do to a person will come back to you 3 times.
I am not saying that a group of Wiccans would never commit murder. But I would be inclined to think that the motive would likely be the usual mundande ones of jealousy, money, love, and/or drugs and not the teachings of their religion.
I would also like to know who categorized this group as Wiccans? If the press gave them that label and they are really Satanists I can see ritual murder being more likely.
Skyclad no doubt.
BTTT
Satanism flourishes where alcoholism, drug abuse, and apathy are common. The community I grew up in had a large number of satanists. It's a sick religion for sick people in a sick community.
Police Say A Ritual Preceded Cemetery Murder (Wiccans)
Uh, dude, that link is to a Cal Tech page, not the Des Moines Register.
But if proven true, this was a Wiccan ritual, not some Wiccan who happened to commit a murder.
Which bears a strong resemblance to ritualistic Masonic penalties for revealing their secrets.
Only ignorant fools think so.
L
Have you ever heard of someone being killed for revealing Masonic secrets?
That's why they're secret.
