"the number of such incidents since August was much more than recorded in the past"

I wonder how much of this is an increase in the number of incidents and how much is a change in the recording and reporting of incidents at a time of heightened tension that maybe wouldn't have been reported in the past?

Easy solution - don't let Muslims fly.

It seems to me that the International Pilots are recommending "profiling" passengers. I hope that is the case.

...and suggested putting a second cockpit barrier in place to enhance security of the flight deck.

As long as the pilot remembers to take the key when he leaves to go to the bathroom...

But, but, but...., I've heard that they aren't going to use airplanes anymore, because we've got those so secure that they would be fools to try it again.

disruptive passenger behaviour, bomb threats, misuse of mobile phones in-flight and even an odd smell in the aircraft

How many of these are "look here" activities while other things might be slipping through elsewhere?

Strategic experts have warned that some of the recent security incidents in different parts of the world involving aircraft and airports could be 'testers' by terrorists.

Not to worry, we (the U.S.) will get the lowdown from captured terrorists as to whether this is true or not!

Oh, wait a minute....

Yes, it's mind boggling at times isn't it.

"Easy solution - don't let Muslims fly."

Or, ride in trains or busses...no mass transit for Muslims, period!

It's rather obvious that it is testing.
Careful, however. When there is an "incident", no matter how small, the reaction is immediate and obsessive. This leaves an opening for a second set of perpetrators to take advantage of the distraction and start a real incident which will do vast damage.
