New Poll: Katherine Harris is closing gap!!
SurveyUSA ^

Posted on 09/17/2006 5:58:24 PM PDT by cutepanda

I am surprised that nobody has noticed this poll taken by SurveyUSA on September 14th.

Nelson 53% : Harris 38%

Clearly, Harris is catching up fast. She used to be 30 points behind but in this post-primary poll, the gap has been narrowed to 15%.

Nelson is in his low 50s, he is clearly in danger. For all those Harris nonsayers, I say screw you!! If Harris keeps on campaigning, the victory is within reach!

When RINO Lincoln Chafee won his primary, all the GOP establishement signed a sigh of relief. However, a new poll to be released by Rasmussen shows the following astonishing results:

Whitehouse 51% : Chafee 43%.

Will GOP establishment pour in another $5MM to save this RHINO? Shall we say mission impossible after the conservative voters are pissed off by the blatant interference from Ms. Dole?

Go Harris! Screw you Lincoln Chafee.

Harris is campaigning hard to inform Floridians that Nelson doesn't represent their traditional values:

Kerry & Nelson....Both too liberal for Florida!

"Whitehouse 51% : Chafee 43%."

That's rumored to be the latest Rasmussen poll (released only to subscribers thus far.)

Harris will end up losing by 5 to 8 points.

I agree. But, who knows, with a large turnout, she could win. FL is too red of a state for anyone with an 'R' next to their name to get beat by double digits. I think many republican voters are like me in that they will vote for Harris, but wish there was a better alternative.

Other factors. She is hated by dems, but their choice for gov is uninspired...

And Crist isn't?

Sure, there are a lot of Republicans who will vote for Crist contentedly unaware of his disregard of some rather flagrant violations of Florida law. And there are even some who know of such things who will hold their noses and vote for him anyway. But I don't think the hardcore base is going to be exactly energized.

Go Harris! Screw you Lincoln Chafee!

You certainly know how to convince moderate Republicans to support you don't you?

I guess we all know now know why the Republican party in Florida has deserted your candidate. .

I think I posted about a week ago that Harris' poll numbers would go up. I also posted that if she reached out and did not carry a grudge she just might make it. But I have no doubt that your tirade will, if it is duplicated by the Harris Campaign, drive the numbers back down. You certainly are not helping her. It appears that you don't care about wining the fall election .. just rubbing the primary victory in.

In come from behind election a tirade like this just can't be supported. It just drives people away. Sorry, but I would not donate a penny to your campaign. If you are typical of her supporters, it is just wasting money.

OK. That is disappointing. Harris's cadeaver is not going to be reanimated based on Chafee's woes in a hostile environment. She has 38% now, and if she is lucky, she might move up to 42% by election day, if someone effectively stops letting Harris just be Harris.

In fairness, Lincoln Chafee does increase the Republican margin in the Senate if nothing else.

He'd have to vote Republican to be of any use.

You would think Pubbies would be thrilled that a RINO who supports some Bush nominations is in office in the Senate, where the real action is, in the most Dem state of the union. But no, of course not. DeWine is a RINO too, screw him as well. Heck, you can put his opponent on your radio show again. Presumably his hormone levels have declined to the point that he won't prey on your staff. Yes, I know, you are retired. In any event, there you have it.

Think a split-the-difference between us may be more correct.

Lemme see if I have your reporterette prognosticosis unsterstood correctly:

You have decided that Bill Nelson will win the U.S. Senate election, and that's how the undecideds are supposed to vote.

Have I missed anything?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Harris is certainly a better alternative than this:

I really hope that you are right, I would greatly prefer Harris over Nelson. Just for you, I'll pull the Florida race out of safe Dem and into th Contest section, I'll have to think about the percent likelihood!!!

I hope the President and Jeb stump for her...

I hope the Harris campaign runs an ad with the pic of Nelson giving two thumbs-up to poster of Michael Moore at his NY movie premier!

Katherine Harris spent several hours at the Palmetto Gun Show this weekend. She had a great reception! Gun owners and 2nd Amendment advocates strongly demonstrated their Katherine Harris support.

There were lines of supporters (Police Officers, Attendees, Exhibitors, etc.) waiting for photos with her. A good time was had by all!

"Conservatives are way too quick to follow the lead of the left when one of their own is ridiculed and attacked long enough."

So true! Six years ago jealous jabs about her physical appearance were meant to drive her into obscurity. Some conservatives have joined in the escalation of hurtful criticism through the years to continue the effort.

Frankly, the degrading treatment she's endured in the media is something they would abhor if she were a terrorist at Gitmo.

Her composure and perserverance in the face of "piling on" that would send many women crying into permanent seclusion indicates just how strong she is.

Oh, goodie. Another rah-rah thread. If she holds her 38% to November, it will be a miracle.

It is up now. It was as of last Wednesday, so it might not reflect that Chafee won his primary.
