Yes. This has been done very low key.

My Rep (a Repub), Joe Wilson (no, not THAT Joe Wilson :), recently held a town hall meeting on immigration. When I brought up this CFR report he seemed surprised that I knew anything about it. That raised a red flag for me. He then went on to say no legislation has been passed to implement this, etc.*

While that may be true, other stuff is happening like the trans Texas corridor, the I-69 initiative, etc.

It's almost like they're gonna sneak this in through the back door and before anybody notices, its a done deal.

* He pretty much just brushed it off which did NOT make me happy. Due to the structure of the meeting I was unable to press him on this. But after the meeting some of the folks that attended started asking me questions about the report. I answered as best I could and directed them to the report's web site. They seemed genuinely concerned and upset that this is going on under the radar.

Have you not noticed the 'consideration' this topic, those who write about it and those who wish to discuss it, are given here at FreeRepublic? Posted threads on this topic are usually quickly moved to 'chat', the 'keywords' quickly begin to list ridiculous and derrogatory words, and the thread is almost immediately hijacked... those who wishes to have a serious discussion on the topic are belittled and subjected to 'personal attack'. Happens every time and is being allowed to continue. Raises a red flag for me. If I had to guess, I'd say that the handful of freepers doing this do so because they are 1) actually supporters of the SPP/NAU propositions, and 2) are enabled to discourage investigation and conversation.
