Giving Congress up to September 21 to stop the invasion of Iraq, Reverend Lennox Yearwood, CEO of the Hip Hop Caucus of Washington D.C., and Church of God and Christ minister, plans to lead a press conference in front of the White House to protest the war in Iraq on Thursday (Sept. 21).
Yearwood, citing a moral obligation, says that he, along with 270 cities and 350 organizations nationwide, will no longer be passive observers of Bush's War on Terror. "We are in a time of peril in which people of morals have to stand up. We are willing to do whatever it takes-all on peace-to urge Congress and the administration to take a new course on Iraq, including a timely and responsible withdrawal of troops," he stated.
Known for his work with ubiquitous hip hop stars such as Jay-Z and Diddy (as senior consultant to their "Voice Your Choice" and "Citizen Change" groups, respectively) as well as serving as national grassroots and political director for Russell Simmons' Hip Hop Summit Action Network, Yearwood and about fifty supporters plan to demonstrate with speeches and a public signing of a "Declaration of Peace" document. Some of the speech participants slated to be in attendance are Congressman John Lewis (GA) and national religious leader Father Louis Vitale, former pastor of Saint Barnabas Church.
Yearwood intends to present the "Declaration of Peace" to President Bush by approaching the White House gates with interlocked arms. Yearwood adds, "We will do whatever it takes [even] if it calls to be arrested or bodily harmed, we must make a stand."
Events, dubbed "A Week of Action," will follow with peace vigils, fund-raising dinners, workshops, peace caravans, pole planting, and parades throughout the country and in Puerto Rico until the 28.
Oh joy. The loons are just coming out of the woodwork these last few days.
Yeah, I'm sure he'll change the course of world events by adding to the wacko brigades outside the White House fence. God these people are possessed by demons or something.
Can't wait to see the Photo's of that! (snickering)
Karl Rove is a frickin' genius.
Hmmm. I think they may find that "interlocked arms" are no match for automatic arms...
What?
Would anyone like to volunteer to make this guy realize his ambitions?
He is about to get fired from his parish in San Francisco due to his absenteeism.
And trust me, it is close to impossible for a priest to get fired from a parish in SF.
Hey "Reverend," quit cussing, quit calling women "Ho's," buy a belt and pull your pants up.
For some reason, I am just not going to enjoy this article until it is Dialectisized (TM) into "Jive" courtesy of http://www.rinkworks.com/dialect/
Here we go.

I never thought it would come to this, but if this man wants to volunteer to be a human shield in Iraq to protect our soldiers, I think we should ship him out today.

Truly. And it is the swamp fever crowd like these idiots that are the GOP's biggest asset going into the mid-terms. Americans are starting to be turned off in a big way over the rhetoric of the Democratic leadership and their fellow travelers on the far left. I think it is the anger politics of the Democrats that have brought home the GOP base more than anything behind Bush and now appears to be working to turn them out in big numbers come November. I said all along the more rank the Democrats get in their rhetoric, the more they'll do to solidify the base behind Bush and the GOP for November. And Chavez's deranged comments before the UN today will continue to rally the base around the president and the party. Every time they open their stupid mouths it does the work of $10 million worth of GOTV efforts by the GOP. Let's hope they don't get smart and go silent.
