Fox News ^ | September 21, 2006 | Fox News Staff

A new Pentagon report knocks down the idea that a secret military unit had garnered intelligence a year before the Sept. 11 attacks that might have stopped the hijackers, a senior defense official said Thursday.

Lawmakers were supposed to be briefed Thursday on the Defense Department inspector general's report, and officials hoped to post a redacted version of the report on the Pentagon's Web site as early as Thursday afternoon, two officials said. The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the report had not yet been released, declined to provide further details about the study's conclusions.

Why do I have zero confidence that the DoD's Inspector General did a thorough and competent job on this report? Because the bureaucracies are still overrun with complacent Clintonistas and fraudulent liberals who will do just about anything to try to block this kind of information.....

I wonder if they will also explain how two terrorists can go from being watched in Malaysia in January of 2000 until they take a flight to Los Angeles in March of 2000...and then nothing happens.

For the same reason I have 100% confidence that the report will say it was actually 234 days before 9/11, not one year.

And to try to defeat Congressman Weldon, who has displayed great courage in exposing failures of the previous administration to defend us against terrorists, despite numbers of deaths of Americans due to repeated attacks by terrorists over that 8-year period.

Alphabet Bureaucracies playing the letters CYA in the game of political Scrabble. A full cover-up would be a better idea, because if this gets the investigive attention it deserves, some DOD bureaucrats might find their careers DOA.

Just like the Senate Intelligence report that said Saddam had no ties to terrorism and Al Qaeda. Sad.

Problem is liberal POS are entrenched in all areas of our Military and Intelligence. Clintonoids art work. May God not have mercy on their souls and neither will I.

Exactly - and it's no accident this Clintonista crap is coming out 6 weeks before the elections!!!! This propaganda has got to be vigorously countered, but as usual the Republicans in Congress seem to lack the stones to do anything..... just see how Hagel and Snowe have been able to help the scurrilous Carl Levin and pals rig the Senate Intel report on Iraq....

If there was nothing to the 'Able Danger' report, why is it that a redacted version only is going to be released?

Again it leads to the question, just exactly what did sandy burgler stuff down his pants and destroy when he got home? My guess.....a lot more than what's already been hinted at so far.

"So Sandy Burglar took WHAT out of the archives??"

He was really only after Bill Clinton's personal collection of Penthouse pin-ups, because Bill had scribbled all kinds of vital national security notes in the margins and it might have been a tad embarrassing to have those posters included as appendices in the 9/11 Omission-Commission report......nothing to see with felon Sandy Burglar, let's must move on..... /s

IMO, Able Danger also uncovered a whole bunchalotta crapola on the Republicans as well as the Democrat Clintonista mob. There is no other plausible explanation for the deafening silence (save for an occasional word from Wendell) from the Republican side of the aisle.
